"Happy Hour At Pedro's". Four words of magic. Four bucks per drink. Four bucks per entree. "Four" seems to be the key number to remember. Yup, four stars, too. Our gorgeous and sultry server provided fresh chips and delicious salsa practically as soon as our respective butts contacted our respective seats. She was patient as a saint, managing our occasionally boisterous party of ten quite well. Serendipity prevailed, since my all-time favorite beer, Modelo Especiale on draft was on the HH menu! Four bucks per large glass. Line 'em up ! Nachos, quesadillas, taquitos, margaritas, and more, yep, you guessed it, Four Bucks Each. And the guacamole was super good. If you like that sort of thing . . . Like somebody doesn't ?? All food and drink orders arrived accurately, as ordered, not that it would have really mattered, but they did. Thank you, gorgeous and sultry server. We all left happy, satiated, and even had a bit of cash remaining. Isn't that what Happy Hour is all about? Thank you, Pedro. As a side note, parking stinks in Los Gatos.

The food isn't as good as it used to be, but if your looking for some simple Mexican food, it hits the spot. The best thing here I would say is their happy hour! Who can complain about cheap house margarita's and free appetizers? I love that I can go, spend all my money on booze, and get to eat rice and beans (like I said in previous reviews, I am a Rice & Beans fanatic), chips and salsa, and then bite sized "whatever-they-feel-like-serving on-that-day". I am always a fan of free though!

No passport for special and was not informed. 2 frozen lobster tacos and beans 20 a plate and was told homemade tortilla. Not homemade. This place has gone down hill. No wonder it is empty. Our drinks were all ice btw. :-( Our waitress said to get these. We are starved still. 60 bucks for funky not fresh rubbery tacos. Not our favorite place to bring friends and family ever again.

Worst Pedro's I've ever eaten at! Service was bad, the food was awful and the drinks were weak. With so many options in Los Gatos, there is no reason to choose this place.

I walked into Pedro's in the middle of a long walk exploring Los Gatos' residential charms on MLK Day 2015--on the curbside recommendation of some exiting patrons rather than on the basis of Yelp reviews--and after the experience I had I was a bit surprised when I returned to my hotel room and read some of the other reviews here. For my part, chicken enchilada suizas served with whole beans (almost forgot to ask), Spanish rice, and a cup of excellent tortilla soup were very tasty to this hungry traveler and well above the pack as Mexican restaurants go; the ambiance of this establishment is above average (quite attractive in all its gloriously tiled detail). I'd enjoy exploring the rest of the menu here and seeing how they do when the place is packed.

i came here several months ago after running a race at nearby vasona lake along the los gatos creek trail. since main st los gatos was only a few minutes away, my friends and i agreed to come here in search of food to fill our empty tummies! while my friends ordered from the menu (tacos, burritos, and other typical mexican fare), i opted for the all you can eat breakfast/brunch buffet since everything in the buffet area looked absolutely scrumptious! the buffet offered: +customised omelets from the omelet station +seasoned potatoes +beans +soup +assorted fresh cut fruit +flan +mexican-inspired cakes the omelet was made fresh to order which was really nice and i enjoyed the home prepared potatoes which were seasoned just right. i helped myself to a large plate of fruit since the cantaloupe and honeydew were quite fresh. the flan was a sweet and delicate ending to this brunch. the food was good, but nothing to call home about. for $20, including tax and tip, i felt this was a fair price for the selection given. service was just ok, our waitress stopped by once or twice, and brought the check upon request. since this restaurant is located on a busy street in los gatos, you'll need to park on the side streets and be prepared to walk a few blocks, especially during brunch on a weekend.

Free chips and salsa was GREAT!!! Freshly fried and warm! Their salsa verde is very good as well as their regular salsa.. But the goodness ends there sadly. Their menu is tacky . .. Some crappy paper with stains on them? Na ah , not for a restaurant in los gatos!! we ordered the salmon, beef/chicken fajitas, ny steak, and some chicken i forgot what its called. all of the dishes were boring and non memorable. the salmon was bland, the steak was "OK", chicken was dry an forgettable, fajitas was the most flavorful dish we ordered but even so... pretty sad. as if this restaurant chefs cant get any worst! they totally failed on desserts!! fried ice cream- the batter/ corn flake coating had the texture of stale crackers soaked in diabetes syrup. overly too sweet flan- the jell-o brand flan taste waaay better than this so called flan chocolate mousse- a bite of this and you know its made from cocoa powder and not real melted chocolate. vanilla ice cream w/whipped cream- this most basic scoop of ice cream taste way better than the other desserts sadly. the service and ambiance was fairly good but disappointingly the food totally failed!

I used to dream about Pedro's once upon a time. Lately its gone so far down hill. I still stop in time to time because I just can't let it go. When they were in their prime the best dishes were: the Quesadilla verde, Sweet Corn Tamales, Tostada salad, and the Fajitas. Maybe I'll venture in one more time. Lets hope its miraculously returned to what it once was.

Occasion: Dinner with the fam bam (to celebrate Mom's Eagle shot at Saratoga Country Club this afternoon!) What I Had: Grilled Salmon Ensalada ($13) Food Review: The salmon salad includes 2 pieces of grilled salmon, mixed greens, walnuts, mandarins, and red vinaigrette. I made the mistake of not asking for dressing on the side, but the dressing itself was not excessively sour or salty, so the salad didn't overwhelm my taste buds. The salmon was well cooked, and there were plenty of walnuts in the mix. The greens were all fresh, and the mandarins added a nice touch. Wasn't as great (or as large) as my fav salmon salad at the Farm of Beverly Hills, but it's definitely at, if not above, par. Service Review: Unfortunately our waitress either had a lot on her mind today or is not very attentive overall. Whenever we needed something, we had to be sure to catch her passing by to have our request filled. Refill on the chips. Refill of water. Check please. Little things that most servers would come by, notice, and take care of. It took her about 15 minutes after we received the check for her to pick it up from us so we could sign. Maybe waiting tables isn't her forte? Venue Review: There is parking available in a giant lot about a block behind the restaurant, so that wasn't an issue although street parking can be scanty. The restaurant is quaint, well decorated, and there is plenty of indoor seating. Although the Pedro's was still pretty busy, we were able to get a table for 4 without a reservation on a Friday evening. Overall Impression: Not the best service experience, but good entree and yummy salsa! I'd choose Pedro's over Chevy's or Chili's any day.

When it comes to "Mexican" food, these days people will opt for a burrito at Chipotle, but when you're looking for authenticity, come to Pedro's. The Grub -- * Pedro's Sizzling Fajitas ($16) - Southwestern lightly marinated steak served with guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, salsa, "frijoles de la olla" and corn/flour tortillas * Chicken Ranchero ($14) - Chicken simmered in white wine and ranchero in a sauce of lime, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and jalapenos served with Spanish rice, refried beans, and corn/flour tortillas * Guacamole Appetizer ($5) - made fresh daily with sun ripened avocado, tomato, cilantro, and onions in fresh lime juice Venue Review -- Unlike Chipotle, you won't find stainless steel counters and sleek design here. In a maze of five or six rooms, Pedro's has a full bar in a 21+ zone and rooms bursting with authentic Mexican decor. You won't know whether you're inside or out while navigating their shingled roofs, wrought-iron gates, and thick pueblo style walls. Pedro's is a lively spot with a real south-of-the-border atmosphere. Food Review -- We got a FREE GUACAMOLE appetizer by Checking-In on Yelp! Normally a $5 value, I was able to enjoy sinking their crispy chips into the avocado blend guilt-free! My dad ordered the Sizzling Fajitas, which were similar to ordering a Fajita Platter at Chevy's, only I wish they had a Mixed Grill Option! Chevy's has a Mixed Grill Fajita that includes chicken, steak, and shrimp on a hot 3-piece grill for just a couple bucks more than the single-meat option. The Chicken Ranchero was alright, but the chicken was sparse and a little too watery...the sauce could've used a bit more thickening. Service Review -- Our waiter was very polite and came to our table just enough to make sure that we knew he cared but not too often to annoy us. We actually had a second waiter who came around very frequently, filling up our water glasses before they were half-full. Overall Impression -- The next time I come by Pedro's I might try something on the bar-side to get the full Pedro's experience. The food was decent although I couldn't see what I was eating in the dim lighting..I figure that with a couple shots of tequila I won't mind not being able to see what I'm eating or drinking.

We have been here twice now. The food and service is good. Drinks are ok but smaller than we would like for the price. We will return when we are craving authentic Mexican.

This place isn't bad, but I have to admit I have had way better Mexican food for less. I think because of the location the prices are what they are. The staff is VERY friendly and the service is good. It is a nice clean restaurant. The cocktails are always good! I would definitely go for happy hour just because the location is nice to walk around after a good meal!

I am giving Pedro's Restaurant two stars for their chips, service and decor. We ate lunch at Pedro's the other day. My wife had the taco combo, which had one small taco, some rice and beans, $12. I had the vegetable enchilada combo with black beans and vegetables. It was the worst vegetable enchilada I've ever had, for $12 also. For $12 a plate, I expect a much better meal. We will not be returning.

For a party of 20, I'd say that they served us well. Complimentary chips and salsa were constantly refilled. Water was refilled as well. The selections on the menu were affordable and were categorized for an easier gaze. I like the combination options, so you're not stuck with all quesadillas, all tacos, or all enchiladas. If you are like me, I like variety and trying a little bit of everything. The enchilada + chile relleno combination was alright, but probably better than the quesadilla entrees. For quesadillas, I think I'd rather go to a local Mexican joint for more authentic looking and tasting dillas'. Refried beans were plentiful because it took up almost half of my plate...used it as chip dip. I don't see myself coming back in the future unless someone has their birthday dinner here. Parking was readily accessible especially after 6pm.

I haven't been here in years and now I remember why. As I waited to be seated a hostess was assisting with a to-go order. She dropped the utensils and napkins on the floor and then put them back in the bag, Yuck! The next customer in front of us just wanted to order chips and salsa. The hostess asked her to wait while she seated us. Well I appreciate being seated first but if I was the one just wanting to put in a quick order for chips and salsa I probably wouldn't be happy. The food was extremely bland, lackluster, and visually unappealing. They drowned the food in sauce and they definitely go HEAVY on the SALT. I'm petrified to check my blood pressure right now. All in all I would have had a better meal at taco bell. Too bad because it wouldn't take more than someone to pull their head out of the sand and give a darn about what they are doing. Very disappointed, and probably will never go back until they change management.

Last night went for my birthday dinner. Over the last 40 years I've had lots of birthday dinners at Pedro's and hadn't (until last night) been disappointed. The service was ridiculously slow. We had 5:00 reservations, close to no one else in the place and we waited 20 minutes for drinks and probably 35 minutes for dinner. The waitress didn't ask about blended or non-blended margaritas and guessed wrong. We sent the pitcher back and waited probably 10 minutes for the replacement. The Chimichanga was only passable...bland and too much tortilla. This place has changed and it's location is probably the only thing that keeps it going. Adios Pedro's...it used to be nice.

I've been there twice now. Food is good, but the service in inexplicably below standard. Especially for downtown Los Gatos. Take it or leave it. Not my choice

This is definitely not a real authentic mexican restaurant but it was good and we had a pleasant experience. We stopped in Los Gatos on the way to Monterey and had a late lunch with our dog on the patio. They brought her water without us even asking which is a huge satisfier for us! The chips and salsa were average but satisfying - who doesn't love the chips and salsa at any Mexican joint?! I ordered a chicken enchilada and my husband ordered fish tacos. We later realized there was a check in deal on yelp for free nachos but were too full at that point. We did order fried ice cream, despite being "too full," and it was really good. The service got progressively slower throughout the duration of the meal, but luckily we weren't in a hurry. We definitely wouldn't drive from San Francisco to go back to Pedro's but if we were in the mood for some Mexican food and were passing by, we probably would go back. Especially since we know it is a dog friendly restaurant.

I'd love to be able to comment on the food here, but I'm not able to as my fiance and I never made it that far, as in we waited so long to be acknowledged at the host podium that we left. My fiance and I came in starving on a weekend afternoon about 2 pm. The restaurant was pretty quiet. Definitely not busy. As we walked in, someone said "hello" to us, but there was no one at the host podium to seat us. We stood there for a few minutes and observed other staff / wait persons / bussers milling around, making eye contact, but never bothering to talk to us. Then another couple came in and stood behind us. A few more minutes passed as the other couple and we looked at each other confused and half-smiling. Desperate for someone to acknowledge our presence and seat us, my fiance even made a call from his cell phone to the restaurant. We could hear it ringing at the podium, but still no one came. A few more minutes later, finally someone walked by - I think it was the same guy that said "hi" when we were walking in - and asked, "Oh, have you been helped yet?" We replied, "No." And to our dismay, he dismissed us AGAIN by saying, "Oh, ok. I will be with you in just a minute." That was it. We had had enough. We walked out and told the dude we'd been waiting entirely too long to be acknowledged and seated and ate at an Indian restaurant down the street instead. Totally unacceptable. We won't be back.

Hardly anyone there. Sat another group right next to us even though it was empty. Super slow service. Front desk useless, asked about my dairy allergies and she asked a server. He didn't know and asked her to check with the chef. She came back and told me everything had flour in it. I told her I wasnt allergic to wheat and she said, "wait, what did you ask me again?" She then went back again to the chef and came out and told me I could have a fajita or vegetarian rice. It was 11 am and we were there for the breakfast buffet. Wtf? I asked her if there was anything in the buffet we had already paid for and she told me omelets and waffles. Well the omelets are cooked in butter, and the waffles are also, as was told to me by another waiter! I knew I would have limited options with my allergy, but they way they handled it was just chaotic.

I have been a big fan of Pedro's for many years. The place has deteriorated beyond belief. The Fajitas were dry and burnt - totally tasteless. The service took a long time. It is now, an over rated Mexican place. I am going to the local Taquerias.

My mom and I used to make weekend trips here just for their Chile Rellenos. The atmosphere is so relaxing and fun with different dining areas. Their bar is colorful and casual. The 2 dining areas are great for both both groups and dates. Our favorite is the indoor patio area where you get plenty of natural sunlight and they open the windows to let in the nicest breeze. As for their food, it's amazing to still find a place that doesn't compromise their taste and quality even 10 years later. We've decided that no matter what you order on their menu (even though we usually just get Chile Rellenos), it is sure to be delicious. Forget the other dining options in downtown Los Gatos, Pedro's will always be me and my mom's favorite!

Pedros is a great local Mexican restaurant with a fantastic happy hour. We usually sit in the bar area. The servers and bartenders are all very friendly, and try hard to do a good job. It has a casual atmosphere and is a convenient place to meet up with friends to share drinks and appetizers. I recommend their signature "Super Chevella" drink. It goes well with the happy hour beef nachos from 4-7.

I've been going to Pedro's for years and it has gone downhill. The last straw is that my Hubby and I went there for Happy Hour a few weeks ago and ordered some appetizers-we both got sick. Several of my friends and family members have as well so we're going to cool it for awhile. They used to be really awesome but lately not so good! I hope it turns around because it has been in LG forever!

Pedro's is a moderately upscale, locally popular independent Mexican restaurant and bar with an outstanding happy-hour menu. (This is the original Pedro's, a second location is in Santa Clara.) I have business sometimes in downtown Los Gatos, and got in the habit of stopping at Pedro's for early suppers. I was referred there by an expert advisor: a longtime local contact, a Mexican immigrant of extraordinary food experience, a Grade-A Source for restaurant info of all kinds, who said that he and co-workers eat at Pedro's frequently. Good tip. For casual meals in 20 years of business and pleasure visits, I've frequented various downtown LG restaurants: In the 1990s California Café (then a trendy, thriving Bay Area fusionoid chain, Los Gatos is a survivor), Los Gatos Brewing Co., and a couple of places in the good dense restaurant cluster on E. Main (two-digit odd-number addresses) near the bridge. More recently, for elegant evening rendezvous or light meals, the stylish Cin-Cin (formerly Café Marcella) which is related to Cascal in MV. For coffee, Teri Hope's influential Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Co., which long predated fashionable places like Barefoot Coffee (and Hope's own relatives even grow some of the beans) -- one of Hope's mgrs and protégés opened Dana St. Roasting Co. in Mountain View. Lately though, it has been Pedro's. Early dining at Pedro's has been both gastronomically interesting and a good value. The bar offers, first, a small buffet of bar snacks, but also, a diverse creative bar-food menu, discounted during "happy hour." Word seems to be out, since the bar area is often busy at those times. Even without the "happy-hour" discount, the bar plates would be worthwhile, and those I've tried were substantial enough that it's easy to order too much food. (One time the bartender even warned me about that, and was, of course, right.) Fresh sweet-corn tamales are memorable, but the bar menu has quite a range.

I lived in Austin for four years and have a great appreciation for authentic Mexican and Tex Mex family style food. This is certainly not the place to find it. The offerings are large but very, very bland. In Sweden where it is not unusual to have Mexican and Chinese entrees in the same restaurant there is the same overall lack of any comprehension of how to make even the most basic dish. The free white and blue corn chips are served in a black wrought iron fry cone holder with three dips - ranchero, tomatillo green and an unseasoned bean. This is the best part of the meal. The tortilla soup is $5.50 and consists of celery, carrots, rice, potatoes, onions, tortillas and a few odd bits of chicken. The broth is watered down canned chicken broth...maybe. It tastes like a chicken didn't even fly over it. There was no cumin, chili powder, garlic...so it tasted like chicken vegetable rice soup made by your Midwestern/Irish grandmother..the one that could not cook. When I make it from scratch I make my own chicken stock and season it very well. Then I add avocados, peppers, cilantro, diced fresh tomatoes, tortillas and shredded chicken.. My recipe was from Austin's Central Market which sells a vegetable spice kit in their grocery or you can duplicate it to make your own for less. Iced tea is $2.75 and a top shelf margarita costs $7.50. Those prices are typical LG. I ordered the $14 Chicken Ranchero which was bland and I didn't eat much of it. My husband ordered two entrees, a $9 chopped salad and $9.50 chicken quesadilla. He liked the salad but not the other entree. The service was fine and the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived except for a nearby birthday party. Our house has no a/c so we tried it for the first and only time on a very hot evening. Most of the meals are priced at $14 and up so it is not a good value. We had an Entertainment BOGO offer expiring that day or would have tried another restaurant. If you like Taco Bell or have never ventured outside California which for some unknown reason has few really good Mexican restaurants you may be satisfied.....at the bar. Parking is on the street if you can find a space or drive down to the huge lot next to Hobbe's and walk through the little strip center stores to reach the restaurant if you are still determined to go there.

We really enjoyed Happy Hour here---the margaritas are in the $4 range and we ordered two tacos for $3.00. There are baskets of thin crispy chips with red and green salsa. A fun place to hang out and the bartender was very helpful when we accidentally spilled some of one of our drinks. He made us Another half drink free. We will go back here and bring friends with us.

Pedro's is a long time favorite. The food and service is better than other trendy Mexican food near by and for a way cheaper price. The margaritas are strong. The chips and salsa are delicious (and spicy... and free). A perfect combination. My favorite things on the menu are the nachos and flautas. And of course the FRIED ICE CREAM. nom nom nomz. The ambience is fun and casual. And there's a really cute section by the windows that are really nice for lunch dates. A great place for birthdays... I think I've had like 5 or 6 here.

What a difference a year or two can make. I've been back twice--a year apart each--since my first review, and the service we received went from decent to pitiful during that time. We also noticed that for a Saturday evening, Pedro's had few customers, while neighboring restaurants were packed and noisy. We were neglected for almost 10 minutes before I finally went to the hostess and told her we would leave if we weren't seated in a better location (we were seated in an area with no one else) and had a waitress take out food order. We were re-seated and had great service after that. The food was fine, but our service was so initially lousy that we're going to find another Mexican food option the next time we're in Los Gatos.

Came here for lunch because a different restaurant we were planning to go to wasn't open. We searched Yelp and came here because they happened to have a yelp offer - free nachos with purchase of 2 entrees. Huge disappointment, even with the nachos. Overpriced sub-par mexican food. We ordered the carnitas tacos and the taco salad. The tacos (2 mind you !!!) was $14 and the taco salad (hardly filling) was $11. Margarita $6.50. They charged us for the nachos ($8.00) then gave a credit of $7.50 at checkout (well, that isn't "free" is it but it wasn't worth complaining). The nachos were maybe 11 chips. The waiter didn't take our order until perhaps 10 minutes after sitting down and it took another half an hour to get our food. The waiter didn't check on us once before we got our check. We ended up paying $40 for disappointing food and terrible service. Never again.

My boyfriend and I discovered Pedro's thanks to our dog, Tycho. Pedro's only has two outside tables but they always welcome our party of three (unlike most LG patios). The food is always great and the manager helped find my perfect margarita! Every dish I've had was great- from fajitas, burritos and tacos to the soup, quesadillas, and Chile Verde! I really appreciate how accommodating the staff is. Only downside- wish my bf's soda got refilled more often. Next time going to ask for a pitcher ;) I wrote intimate and quiet only because we sit outside- not sure how indoors compares.

Service is mediocre, not overly attentive and we had to seek our waitress out a couple times. The food that shined was the beans for us, I ordered shrimp tacos and regretted it. They were small and not overly fresh for bay area standards. However the guacamole was delicious, as were the nachos we got for checking in. Had the service been better this would have been a 4 star experience

Good food bad service. They should switch all waiters/waitresses with the personnel serving water and chips and salsa, they have better customer service skills than the lady assigned to our table.

Grew up in LG in the 80's and this was just standard fare. Came back recent and had a wonderful meal with the family. If you haven't been in a while, it's time to go back! Wonderful flavors even if they are a little more Americanized than true Mexican flavoring.

I had a good meal here tonight. I had the pollo con crema and my friend had the mole. Tortillas were good. Salsa surprised me a bit--it looked like a watery, tomato bland salsa, but had a it of a kick and that made me happy. Drinks were decent and all in all everything was good--including service. We had a very nice waitress and she did her job well. I am having a hard time figuring out why people are so bent our of shape about the prices....my plate was about $11 at dinner which is VERY reasonable. Burritos were $8 and that is average for a sit down restaurant.

I like the Santa Clara location, but very disappointed in this location. It is very small inside, compared to SC. Long waits for a table on weekend. Service was terrible and they made us feel very rushed. Different people kept bring us things (not our server). Food was BLAND and tasted like it came out of a freezer (not authentic or fresh tasting at all). Overpriced for what you get. It was $60+ for two meals, a beer, and a margarita. Which wouldn't have been bad if the food and service were decent. I usually love Pedro's, especially for happy hour and brunch. But the Los Gatos location disappointed me. Sad to say,I will not be returning here.

This is the worst Mexican food I've ever had in the bay area. I ordered a vegetable fajita. The vegetables tasted like they had been bred for shelf life with Monsanto seeds in some large scale monoculture farm somewhere in Kansas, then frozen for a decade and carelessly tossed into some hot water, then microwaved until limp and completely devoid of any flavor and nutrients. Maybe I've been conditioned by Chevy's to expect that vegetable fajitas are to be delivered on a sizzling platter WITH onions and peppers....Pedro's fajitas came out on a silent, slightly warm platter with only 3 vegetables - carrots, zucchini, and green beans. No onions, no peppers, but there was a small serving of (canned) beans which looked even more unappealing than the vegetables. The tortillas didn't come out with the meal, so we waited, stared at our food, and played 3 games of tic tac toe and 3 rounds of hangman before the server brought them out. The toppings which I had higher hopes for were as much of a disappointment. The pico de gallo was old. The tomatoes bits were soft, like they've been sitting in a carton for months. The sour cream was low quality, and the guacamole was processed and not fresh. I expected a LOT more from a Los Gatos establishment. Apart from their free salsa (that come with chips), Pedro's uses the lowest quality and cheapest food they can find. The salsa was pretty good and I ended up pouring it over my meal so my dinner really just tasted like variations of salsa soup. If you do come here, I hope for your sake that you're plenty drunk beforehand and you fill up on chips and salsa.

My boss suggested this place to me MONTHS ago knowing how much I love Mexican food, but I never made the time to check it out...until NOW! :) The exterior of the place had a very unique, eclectic look about it, which gave it a nice rustic look. However, parking SUCKS (which is why I knocked off one star). Our hostess sat my girlfriend and I at a window seat, which was really nice considering it was a warm, snug afternoon. However, the place was well ventilated, so I didn't have to sweat like a pig. Our waitress was kind of low-key in terms of energy, which we she was probably a waitress phasing out for the shift. Drinks are kind of pricey -- NO LEMONADE or RASPBERRY ICE TEA?!!!...aww...its ok because your carne asada fajitas totally REDEEMED YOU for all of the errors I saw tonight. The steak was well cook and well proportioned on the skillet (whereas other places, its 70% veggies and 30% meat, boo). The pico de gallo was fresh as was the guacamole and the cheese. Every fajita I made was damn good, especially after sprinkling it with some tabasco sauce. The tortillas taste fresh and the veggies did not seemed boiled in oil. Unfortunately, when I ran out of tortillas it was $1.25 for another batch of 4...oh well, the fajitas were SO good that I disregarded that detail, which I would have dinged in other reviews. Pedro's fajitas totally owned Chevy's and Chili's fajitas! Overall, a really great place to eat...great atmosphere...and yummy carne asada fajitas. I have to bow down to my boss for this one! :)

The food was really good, so at least 4 stars for that, but 3 stars is for, forgetful service, in that, the nice waiter forgot about three things of mine. The place has a nice relaxing vibe, and I love the decor.

This great mexican restaurant is worth visiting and making it your restaurant of choice. Everytime I go to Pedros, I always feel at home with its warm welcome, beautiful decor and one of a kind food presentation. The food is excellent and the desert is delicious. The service is outstanding! The manager comes to your table often to check about your experience. Whether I go alone, with friends or family everyone greatly enjoys the experience and leaves wanting to come back. I traveled many countries and toured many restaurants but nothing beats Pedros. It will always have a special place in my heart! Neil H.

Came to Happy Hour the other week with some co-workers to celebrate a bday. Again, like their Santa Clara location, it's all about the HAPPY HOUR! Same deal, different location: $3.50: Beer on Tap and House Margaritas $3: Well Drinks Daily Specialty Cocktails AND COMPLIMENTARY APPETIZERS BUFFET!!! That particular day they had chicken fajitas, Spanish rice, and beans. Pretty tasty--and FREE!!! 1/2 off all night for Ladies on Thursday. With that said, I do prefer the Santa Clara location better.....much larger space, better parking, and a little more diverse crowd :)

The Sunday brunch in Santa Clara is way better than this one. The one in Los Gatos is about 1/4 the size of the one in Santa Clara. The food was just so so, a couple of the desserts were a little frozen and they didn't refill the bowls of food in a timely manner. For the amount we paid, $24.99, it surely wasn't worth it. To top it off, the day I went was for Mother's Day brunch. Will not be coming back to this one ever again!

I'm not sure I'm going from 2 to 2.5 or 2.5 to 3 stars but things were a bit better this time. I had the Enchiladas Mole Rojo which was okay. I'm not a huge mole fan but the waitress said it was the best thing on the menu. And speaking of the waitress, I was a bit peeved at how long it took for her to even get to us and to top things off, when she finally came over to say she would be right with us, she immediately went to the table of 10 next to us and started taking their orders. After around 10 minutes we got our drink order in and some chips. I hear the nachos are good and the beer is cold so I'll probably go back for happy hour. Not for lunch or dinner.

So, our dog was being groomed around the corner and she wasn't ready. We walked on over here for a drink. The pour here is excellent and the bartender was friendly and helpful. We tried two appetizers. The first was the chicken quesadilla and it was really good. The second dish we tried were the faquitos. They weren't as good, but they were nuclear heat hot. The only drawback we had was when the server delivering the quesadilla decided that as he was placing the platter over my left shoulder would be a great time to yell at the top of his voice back to the kitchen through my left ear. Luckily, by this time I was somewhat chilled by the cocktail...did I mention the pour here is really big? We'll be back, hopefully on that server's night off.

Good chili rellanos, and great side options; black beans, refried, or vegetables. Love the salsa! Great location.

Thought I would give this place a second chance, again slightly disappointed! If they put as much effort into their food as they do into their drinks then this place would be at least 4 stars. Food is bland and felt like we where rushed through dinner to make room for other waiting people.

My fiance and I went to this restaurant a couple of months ago, against our better judgment. The food was so salty and unpalatable that I could not eat one bite more after the first. They are also a restaurant listed with the Passport Card, which is a card you pay an annual membership for and participating restaurants give you the second entree for free. The waiter, who I found to be the only professional staff member that I dealt with in this dining experience, asked me what was wrong with the food. I explained that it was as if someone dumped an entire shaker of salt in there. He was about to offer another entree but I told him not to worry because we are using the Passport Card and so we won't be paying for it anyway (I was completely turned off eating anything else at this restaurant at this point). Then the waiter returns to inform me that since Pedros considers Halloween a National Holiday, they don't honor the card on the holiday. He thought it a bit silly but said that his Manager won't allow him to honor it, even though my food was uneaten and inedible. I spoke to the Manager who was emphatically enforcing this stupid rule, and explained that my meal was inedible. She was so uncouth and vitriolic and obviously not a seasoned restaurant manager, and refused to honor the card or comp the meal. (And when the hell did HALLOWEEN become a National Holiday?) To make matters worse, I phoned her manager, and he bought her side of the story completely and literally screamed down the phone at me. When I asked for his name for this review, he refused. I will NEVER go this restaurant again ever. Oh, and as for Passport Unlimited (no longer on Yelp - but their number is 800-522-1697), I followed up with them, two months ago, and asked them to take action with Pedros, since they are sanctioning this despicable service. They finally got back with me two months later to say that they are not going to do anything about it.

I only come here with my coworkers. If not for them, I won't come here. The food is expensive. Granted the food is not bad. But for this price, I'd rather go elsewhere.

Me and a large group of coworkers stopped by here on Cinco de Mayo for what we hoped would be a good Mexican lunch. Even without a reservation, our party of 11 was able to be seated rather quickly, which was unexpected. After taking our drink order, we must have waited 20 minutes for the waitress to return and take our food order. Odd, considering that there were not that many people in the restaurant. Our food was decent, but I've definitely experienced better. It lacked the flavor of real Mexican food that I've come to expect after living in the Bay Area my entire life. No spice, no zing, no nothing. If you're looking for basic, no thrills food, Pedro's is definitely the place to go. But if you're looking for 'holy crap this is the best Mexican food I've had in a while...' you're better off else where. The two stars mainly reflects the lack of awesomeness in the food. The atmosphere in Pedro's is pretty chill. It's a great looking place... I just wish the food could have been a little better.

This was the second time I have been to Pedro's. Both times I had the chicken fajitas which I have to admit were good, although this time it seems the portion was a bit smaller, no big deal. I asked for another tortilla which to my surprise when I got the bill, cost me an additional $1.25. The waiter explained they used to give 4 tortillas, but blamed it on the new menu, you now only get 3 and they charge for more. I thought new menus were to introduce new items, not reduce the portion size and raise the price. The service was lacking since we had to ask for water refills several times.

Why I allow myself to come to these places, I will never understand. I will start with the positives even if there is only one. The hostesses are always extremely friendly. They are the sparkling diamond amongst a pile of dog shit. First off, it is never my decision to come here, I have a small group of awesome friends, who for some reason, love this place. I'm sorry, I have had great mexican, tex-mexican, authentic mexican, california mexican, and every other mexican cuisine in between and this place has to be one of the worst, if not the worst excuse for a mexican restaurant in California. The service is horrendous, big surprise there. It took fifteen minutes for us to get water, for another ten minutes for our waiter to come up and offer us something else to drink. We were there for almost two hours, with no appetizers. How is that ever acceptable? We were not doing a tasting menu, just a quick lunch. The food was gross, unappetizing, the nachos were virtually inedible, and excuse me, fuck up nachos? You should be dead. One redeeming factor was that they brought out extra bean dip for the table, albeit bland and in depserate need for salt. It was thoughtful. I don't know why I feel the need to be this hostile, maybe because its 4am and I am waiting to hear about the Michelin guide, but all I can think about this place is NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! (friends don't make me come back here, please!) 1 star for being a complete utter waste of my time and furthermore, how dare you offend my palate, I should sue you.

Hubby and I decided to give Pedro's a try since we had a 50% off Groupon. It was a late lunch for us (like 2pm?) in the middle of the week and the service was pretty slow. There were other people there, but not that many so I'm not sure exactly why the greeter and server were so slow. The chips and salsa (as many on Yelp have mentioned) are delish. Hubby got tamals and I got enchiladas. Stay away from the cheese enchiladas. Seriously, they're pretty gross. The chicken enchiladas were pretty good and the tamals were ok (beef tamals), but kind of bland. Hubby thought he's had better from little tamale carts - I'd agree. This place was okay and we might go back, but the food was only okay, the service was okay, and not quite worth the price. Definitely glad we had a Groupon, otherwise I think we both would have been more disappointed.

While Mexican Cuisine is pretty basic, the food at Pedro's was great as was the service. We were seated right away. The server was there promptly to take our order, he was pleasant and accommodating as our party had three children and an infant. The children's meals came out right away, throughout all dishes the flavors were balanced (not too spicy, not to bland, food temp was appropriate. I had the Modern Margarita, which was perfect. Muddled with fresh lemon and lime and not too sweet. We will definitely be returning.

I really like Pedro's. I worked at one of the local banks for many in downtown LG and always after a long day we would go and have happy hour. The staff was always nice and the food was really good. I have been there many times and in fact their enchiladas are the reason why I go back :) It is GREAT for going out with your coworkers, great seating ! Great for family as well...

Welp, I used to be a fan until tonight. I had a groupon that is expiring tomorrow and I thought I would go have a nice dinner with my boyfriend. Mind you it is my fault for waiting so long to use it... but I checked yelp to make sure the restaurant was still open. It says they are open until 10. When we walked in EXACTLY at 9, I was greeted with "we're closed". Now, there are a bunch of people still eating and hanging out in the place. I felt like they could have at least accommodated us instead of being rude. Just my 10 cents.

I work in LG and eat here maybe once every quarter. I like the atmosphere and the service is quick and friendly. Usually. Yesterday my bf met me here and we decided to share the nachos ($8) and Ensalada Pollo Asado ($12). The salad is usually my favorite thing on the menu, though I've been wanting to try their happy hour for awhile now since they supposedly have a killer happy hour. But back to lunch. You get a complimentary basket of chips served with a bean dip and two types of salsa. Really good! As for the food, I usually love how fresh the salad is with mangos and tomatoes and grilled chicken. The cilantro salad dressing is really excellent. Only this time the chicken was a little too fresh... as in undercooked. It was served as one giant breast (in the past it's come in strips) so it was only when my bf cut into it that we noticed it was pink and raw inside. Ew. Our server was a little awkward about it. When we showed her what was wrong she had this look of, "What do you want me to do about it?" Not rude, but it's like she'd never had this happen to her before and she wasn't trained for it. So we asked if the kitchen could cook us up another. The only problem is that it took FOREVER and I had to get back to work. We finally asked if we could have the chicken cancelled and the price adjusted to reflect no chicken on our salad. This time she was huffy about it but said she'd tell the kitchen and speak to the manager. Good. Because the manager removed the item completely from our tab. Even so, I think next time I will try Andale.

Mediocre mexican food. I had the chicken flautas for lunch. The meat was very very very dry and the tortilla was stale stale stale, even though its fried! Go figure. Clearly there's not much pride in the kitchen here. I've had better mexican food @ taco bell. Seriously... Pedro's off 101 is a bit better quality and consistency wise.

EXCELLENT service, good food, outside of the prices being pretty steep which I understand it's in Los Gatos but for us poor visitors from the other side of the tracks it was pretty tough to come up with that bill. Other than that, it was very, very nice.

I came here for a lunch date on Tuesday. From the outside, I was intrigued by the building. It seemed like it was plucked right out of an old spanish movie from the 60's. When I walked in, there was no one there to greet us...I almost thought it was closed. I started to call out for someone and a few minutes later a young lady sat us by a window next to the street. I know it is probably policy to seat people there to attract others to come in, but..you could have asked me if I wanted a booth! I wanted a booth! My date checked us in on facebook and it prompted us with a coupon, so of coarse I want to use it. The server comes to greet us, she was training a new person. My date asks if we can use it, she says she has never seen it before and has to ask her manager.....uhm....ok...well you don't know much about your employer do you? We ordered the chimichangas and I had pulled pork tacos. It was ok. I was more impressed by the salsa that came along with the chips before our food came out. Price: they should think about lessoning the price. There was no real distinction between their food and another restaurant. We were sat by a group of 3. Rude people because they kept passing gas!! Wow..restaurant edict 101 needed for all walks of life! I know that this isn't the restaurants fault...but if I got that booth in the beginning...I might have given this place a 3 star....who knows! I wouldn't come back here unless someone else was paying, I had eaten before and I was only coming for drinks. All those combined is mandatory for a revisit!

Dropped by tonight to give this old place a new chance, ordered the sampler plate. Came fast but was tasteless and soggy, it was obviously sitting in the kitchen made hours earlier. I'm not a Taco Bell lover but at least they spice it up a little. I then noticed the free chicken wings nice flavor but they looked more like pigeon wings, very small possibly runt chicken wings. The drinks were ok, kind of weak but tasty, one more thing the bartender did not know what a Gold Margarita on the rocks was. I had to tell him it was made with Cuevro Gold tequila. Not impressed.

Took the family here for the first time and we will be coming back! The food was delicious and I was so pleased with how fast we got our food. Service was awsome there was always someone there to refil your chips, salsa and drinks before you even finshed it!

Not what it used to be. Went last month with my daughter and her girlfriend. Waited for ten minutes at the front for someone to notice us and seat us in an almost empty restaurant while employees wandered around looking lost. The bar was extremely noisy. Chips and Salsa are still fairly good. Service is lacking. Tacos are gross. The nachos are still very good. Overall, not a very happy experience.

First time we came here was for Cinco de Mayo (May 5 for those of you who don't speak Spanish) - and we had a blast. There were tons of people there drinking, dancing and having a good time. We decided we would want to eat there and put our name down on the list - it did take a while - probably 45-60 min to get seated, but we were having fun on the dance floor, so we didn't mind. We ended up sitting down and using the Yelp offer for free nachos with a 2 entree purchase - I forget what we had aside from the nachos, though I recollect it being good. Yesterday, we went back on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated promptly by the hostess, though she awkwardly initially suggested a table by the emergency exit in the corner of the restaurant, even though there were many other tables available - I just pointed out there was a lot of sun / heat in that section, and if it would be okay if we were seated at a different table and she indicated - we could choose which ever table we'd like. They promptly brought us some chips and salsa. We eventually ordered some margaritas (one coconut on the rocks, and one "regular" blended): both were good. We then ordered our entrees: some enchiladas camarones (shrimp enchiladas) and sizzling steak fajitas. Both came very quickly - about as fast as at a Chinese or Thai restaurant (perhaps because the kitchen wasn't busy). Either way, it was well prepared, and the food was yummy. Between the two, I'd recommend the shrimp enchiladas, they were more tasty. Service was prompt, friendly and courteous. Food was well made and tasty. We definitely will be back here again.

This place is worth it for the happy hour alone, but the bartenders are so awesome and friendly that they are actually a reason to keep coming back. I love that they recognize me when I come in. My friends and I always order a margarita pitcher or two when we go - only $15 a pitcher Monday through Friday from 4-7pm and they make them pretty stiff! And of course, free food during happy hour which usually consists of beans/rice or potatoes, chips and salsa, and chicken wings or enchiladas. Awesome. Parking's not great, but this is Los Gatos after all..

Whoohoo! As good as it gets at Pedro's in Los Gatos 95030. It has been a long time since my family and I had dinner at this location because yes there are faster choices closer to home. So when the "other guy" natural food restaurant started to lower their standards we decided to stick to ours. I am writing a review because from the moment we entered Pedro's we were reminded of many special occasions and reasons we often chose Pedro's in the past. The food was delicious, the service superb, and the atmosphere while not quiet in the least the booth we sat in was very private. Our server was very kind and he impressed us when he brought out the food for my toddler out early. She usually grows impatient and I forgot to ask to have the food early however our server was thoughtful and the baby was appeased. We ordered a nacho appetizer, tortilla soup, chicken fajita, tostada salad and child's quesadilla no meat. Meanwhile we discussed how much we had missed Pedro's, the chips and salsa and actually how convenient getting there really was to our home. The parking nearby was easy, we hung out in downtown enough to walk off our full stomach's and at night the trees are covered with pretty white lights. I recommend going to Pedro's for families, groups of friends, and singles because there was a little bit of all types of customers that equally looked happy.

The city was very busy, we went to Pedros for dinner. We were seated very quickly. Our server Marco was great, he was very charming and awesome on menu recommendations. Our menu entrees were so awesome, aNd arrived quickly and hot. The mananger was present and looked to be making rounds and Appeared to be checking on tables . He delivered our desserts which looked so great. Our experience was very memorable. It was nice to have great service, when it was obviously a busy night . We will definitely return for delicious food and dessert. My sister aNd I loved the fried ice cream . For a party of four we were all pleasently happy with the whole experience . Yeah pedros

Mediocre. Nothing thrilling. And really surprised it lacks luster. I am a huge Mexican fan and thought Los Gatos would deliver. It was meh at best. Not bad, nor terrible. Just meh. The guac was good an their salsa was ok. Margaritas were too sour for me and sugary. I lee up like a Macy's Day parade balloon after drinking them. Service was good but the place on a Friday was pretty quiet and catered an older generation which may attribute to the less than bold flavors. Just was hoping for more and found mediocre. This wasn't the Mexican food fix I was searching for this weekend....still on the hunt!

Visiting from out of town, girlfriend took me here. I'm a huge Mexican food lover, and I hate overpaying for Mexican food when I can cook it pretty well myself. Pedros food was delicious, the ranchero chicken was really great, and the tortilla soup was perfectly seasoned. The chips and salsa they give were really good too. Service was great, didn't even have to ask to have a new basket of chips or have our drinks filled. The bus boy even brought me some extra tortillas with the food I was taking home. Definitely a great place to go for some authentic, delicious Mexican food with really great and friendly service.

After hanging out at the Brewery for a minute with my new found cutie guy friend, we decided it was time for some new scenery. We stopped here at Pedro's and I guess Dean stopped here a lot...It felt like Cheers when we walked in and Dean proudly introduced me to many of his beer drinking cohorts at the bar. Since it was such a beautifully sunny day in downtown LG, we chose to take a seat near the sidewalk. About a dozen lamborghinis, ferraris, and other sexy exotic cars drive by and we are offered chips and salsa for the show! The waitstaff was extremely friendly and I actually met the owner who was also friendly. I didn't get past the modela especials i was drinking, so I really can't comment on the food...The other tables around us seem to be enjoying it, so I'm sure it's pretty good! They were also kind enough to put up with our non-stop chatting...so I give the fellow patrons an A+++!! I will definitely be returning since I got asked on another official date by the nice gentleman, Dean, who I met at the brewery...

YIPES! Can't believe how BAD our last meal at Pedros was! Atrocious service--they never brought what we asked for; very mediocre and even bad food priced at $18 a platter; and a snotty bitchy-deluxe front hostess to boot! I really don't think it could have gotten too much worse. Wait, I suppose we could have been mugged or robbed in the parking lot--that would have made it worse! The chips were akin to Tostitos and FAR, far from fresh. Our Del Mar enchiladas had indeed some bland snow crab meat and boiled tasteless shrimp, but the white cream sauce was cold and had a thick film layer on top--it had been sitting for a while, quite obvious, before being brought to us. Toward the end of the meal (when we were stuffed), they finally brought us some extra chips and a green verde salsa--as they noticed we had not been brought any green salsa when we arrived forty minutes earlier. I would have liked the salsa earlier, when we actually had chips and food left to eat. Some might say better late than never, but not me! My mother is a senior and particular about where she sits--not too cold, not too hot, and asking for a table change enflamed the stick figure 22 year old bleached blond seating hostess; what a vamp! It's a shame as we had some GREAT Mole enchildas and tasty chips and superlative service at Pedro's last Fall, but those days seem GONE....! AVOID this restaurant dear friends! AVOID, avoid, avoid!

Went here for a bday dinner and was definitely feeling blah after the watered down margarita and bland meal. There were 7 of us, all ordered different dishes and all ended up feeling let down. With so many great mexican spots in California (not to mention the bay area alone) this was a dissappointing dinner. It's a nice location and our server was nice, but I won't go back or recommend it because there are just way too many better places to go to for some delicious mexican food. I should've known when I called to make a reservation for a Saturday night and they had no problem fitting us in, pretty much offering any time we wanted!

Came here yesterday for brunch. It was just ok, nothing special. Food was editable but nothing knocked my socks off. They need to upgrade their food bins. The knobs were wobbly and the bins were outdated. The service was fair. Waiters seemed confused and the place was empty. The omelet station guy was nice. I was also missing chips and salsa even though it was brunch. Just fair Mexican brunch food.

If you are familiar with addicts, as in Dr Drew addicts, you know that they will tell you that they can usually handle rehab and can clean up. A few days or so after getting out they see whatever it was that drove them into rehab in the first place - be it heroin, cocaine, alcohol. They think that they can handle it so they try "just a little." And "just a little" turns into full blown hitting bottom and getting addicted all over again. Addicts will tell you that this is addiction amnesia - they forget about the last bottom they hit and how bad it was......so they do it all over again, like they have amnesia. This was how I felt at Pedro's - not so much because I was addicted to this place before, but because I had "the food sucked last time I was here but it had been 5 years since the last time i was here so now I have forgotten about the sucky food " amnesia. Yeah that kind of amnesia. When we walked in at lunch - the very empty retaurant should have signaled to me what I was in for. Thank god the chips and salsa were good, because that was the only saving grace. I ordered a fish taco with rice and beans - and yes, thought it was overpriced for what it was. The rice was nothing to write home about - or write on yelp about. The beans? Really bizarre smoky flavored black beans - I didnt get it. The taco was a big fish taco as opposed to the street taco variety. However, it made it onto the fish tacos that suck list for me. It was filled to the brim with salsa and lettuce and vegetable type filling, leaving little fish to be found. The fish was grilled but ended up soggy. Which was odd considering I got the spicy mayo sauce on the side. It was edible but i could hav edone better at home with my old school stove and one arm. Im hoping next time amnesia strikes at Pedro's it will be in another five years.....and Im guessing another restaurant will have moved in. I hope.

Can you seriously give Pedro's a less than stellar review? Well, I certainly can't! Walking around LG after a wedding vendor meeting, we were starving and came across Pedro's. We walked in around 4PM and were seated right away. Our server was great and brought out our drinks extremely quickly. And what's even better: my margarita wasn't too sweet and had a good amount of alcohol! I'd definitely recommend the Cadillac Margarita (on the rocks) if you enjoy good margaritas. I also tried the sangria, which was refreshing and just fruity enough. My combo plate (I chose a cheese enchilada and a chicken taco) was piping hot! Be careful. I was especially surprised by the flavor of the taco and the shredded chicken - loved it! I've got to say though, that the best part of the meal was the chips and salsa - the salsa, being one of the best ever. Not too spicy. Plenty of flavor. Garlic. Not too thick. My guy bought a pint of it to bring home - he liked it that much! And he knows good salsa! The icing on the cake...or...glaze on the flan? When one of the cute bussers ran - literally ran - outside after us to give me my planner that I had mistakenly left behind. THANK YOU! I would have cried if I'd left it! I heart Pedro's.

I'm not sure how this place stays in business. After waiting over 10 minutes at a table in the bar area for someone to offer a menu, some water or to acknowledge that I was waiting, I left. I even asked the hostess if anyone was actually serving the tables; she said yes and went on with the very important task of wiping off her seating chart. This was a Thursday night, by the way, not a busy weekend with a big crowd. Based on what I've read here about the food, I don't think I missed much.

One of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. I guess the draw is that it is in downtown Los Gatos, but that is all it has going for this "not really Mexican food" restaurant. We couldn't tell which type of meat was in our enchiladas and to ask for a condiment, you are charged for it! A few jalapenos, $0.85 and a spicy sauce $1.00. The cost isn't that big of a deal, but I've never been charged extra for a 1/4 cup size of any condiment. You can go down the street to Andale which has much better food and load up on your condiments of choice at no charge. Don't waste your money on this overpriced pretend Mexican food restaurant!

Unfortunately they do not accept coupons on holidays, even though we called them 1 hour before arriving here asking them if they accept coupons and they said YES. Well when it came time to pay the bill we were rudely informed by the manager that they don't accept them on holidays and that the person that told us the WRONG info would be written up for that. I told the manager that wasn't going to help us any. Pedro's was not even busy! Yet the manager still insisted on not honoring our coupon. If they had honored our coupon I would surely have come back, but now because of her rudeness and not willing to use our coupon, we will NEVER go here again! I own a successful bar and would never ever do this to a customer. Shame on them! Poor customer management. Not a good way to do business...

I had very a very bad experience with this restaurant. In fact, this is the worst restaurant that I have ever been. I ordered seafood and rice dinner, but the rice was extremely hard, so i told the waiter and I hope he could do something,, but he said"then you can take rice home" I did not see much seafood in my plate., so I hardly eat any dinner. So by the time I came home, I had to cook my own dinner.

This place is good, a typical Mexican restaurant - slightly above average. Big portions, a little over priced in my opinion, but it probably to be expected given that it is in Los Gatos. Always crowded, especially on weekends. Freindly and attentive wait staff.

Pedro's is good family style Mexican food. Nothing to wow your pants off - but it gets the job done. I almost gave Pedro's 4 stars for a couple reasons. First the happy hour is nuts, great prices on drinks and free samples of food. Plus, if you have a Passport* restaurant card you get one entree free, every time you dine. The service can be a little thin when the place gets really busy, I'd try to avoid the weekends, or when they have big parties there. Try the chicken tacos - they use black beans and a chalupa like shell which really breaths some fresh air into the dish.

I've come here for Sunday brunch a few times, and it's good. It's not as good as El Torito's brunch in my opinion, but it gets the job done and there's no huge crowd. Never had a problem with the staff or anything. I would give the brunch 3 stars. Just recently came for happy hour here, and boy oh boy was I pleased. The margaritas were very good, and they had free steak fajitas along with beans, rice, and chips and salsa. I will definitely frequent this happy hour more often. 5 stars.

Went here last night. The waitress wasnt the best. She got a few orders wrong, but made it our fault and not hers and tried to make us buy the exprensive pitchers of margaritas. Never really was a fan, now I probably wont go back again!

Went again on a Wednesday and it was the same menu- delicious falling off the bone buffalo wings and refried bean potato skins. Seems like wednewsdays are the day to go for those delicious wings of theirs! I would just recommend some sour cream to go with those little potato skin goodies. One thing to note- got a margarita this time and when I asked if flavored was included in the happy hour price he said yes but then charged me an extra $.75- it's ok don't worry I ate an extra 5 wings to compensate :)

We have been going to Pedro's for over 40 years and they have changed the menu many times but this one is the worst ever...The salsa recipe is the original and the best ever! The chef must go and bring back the original favorites that made Pedro's a winner in Los Gatos...

Why go to some soulless chain for Mexican food when you can enjoy la cosa real at Pedro's? Beautifully decorated for a real south-of-the border vibe, this restaurant provides comida buena and very attentive service. It's a great place for a large group or a table of two. They have a good happy hour and some nights feature live music. The only drawback is their one-page website.

A friend of mine decided to have her birthday dinner here last night. The table was set but they wanted to make sure we were all there to seat us. Not a big deal. We were seated promptly once everyone arrived. The waiter was attentive at first and the chips and salsa were replenished. Myself and the woman sitting next to me ordered the mushroom enchiladas. Another gal across the table had the same order. However once our orders came, myself and the gal next to me were served the shrimp and crap enchiladas. The other gal's order was correct. It took awhile for the waiter to come back and check on us. At that point I had decided to keep my dish but the gal next to me sent hers back. The correct order came in about 10 minutes. However, after tasting hers, I was actually glad that they served me the wrong dish as it was much better than the mushroom enchiladas. However they charged me the price of the dish they served me. I thought since it was their fault they should have charged me for what I ordered. No real apology either, but he did offer to remake mine as well. One of the other gals at our table has brought a birthday cake which they agreed to bring out and sing to the birthday gal. However they did not offer to cut or serve it. When the bill came there was a 10 dollar outside cake fee. What? for them to bring it out and sing Happy Birthday? That was ridiculous. But the biggest reason I am complaining is that when the cake was served the waiter asked us if we wanted coffee. I said I wanted regular and three other gals wanted decaf. He told me that I would have to order decaf or the other ladies would have to order regular as he would not make 2 pots of coffee. What? I have never been to a restaurant where they waiter flat out refused my request for something as simple as coffee. How hard it is to make 2 pots of coffee? The price they charge for one cup would have more than covered how much it cost for the rest of the pot. I may have even had 2 cups. I was really taken aback by that. Since it was a big party, he didn't really care about pleasing us as the tip was automatic. I don't even know how that place stays in business with the ridiculously high prices for sub par Mexican food. Also at prime dinner time on a Saturday night in Los Gatos, there is absolutely no parking. We all were driving around at least 10 minutes looking for a spot The only reason I gave my review 2 stars is that the peach margarita I ordered was quite good. However that is not enough for me to ever go there again. .

New menu faster service and the wait staff is right on getting the food to you hot and delicious !! Seems Pedro's LG has switched up the menu with some new fabulous selections combine with the location location as I always say what more could you want !! Best Mexican food in Los gatos !!

Hello, this is California...where is the AUTHENTICITY? I came here with family for the Sunday brunch buffet. Of course, I should have already known, if it's got the word 'buffet' in it, it automatically becomes synonymous with 'crap', but still. The chile colorado and the chile verde were the only truly edible things, everything was gross and bland. The refried beans were watery, the flan had raspberry sauce instead of caramel, and all the food was kind of lukewarm and sad looking. Go get real Mexican food somewhere else.

I know. It's Pedro's. I know. It's Los Gatos. We were driving down Santa Cruz Avenue on a Sunday night, and it seemed to be a good compromise. Not too pricey, and it would get the job done--i.e. feed our tummies! We arrived at ~6:30 and were seated promptly in a corner booth right by the kitchen door. While this normally may disturb me, it wasn't so bad because the table was inset into the corner of the restaurant that we were in, and wasn't too bad, at all. There was a "twilight" menu that was available, and I ordered the chile verde off that. Between taking our order a basket of chips and salsa were delivered to our table and we were munching away, and within probably five minutes our food had arrived. The portion size was good, and calmed the inner beast from hunger. While the food doesn't garner that much accolades, the service really does. Our drinks were constantly refilled, there was a guy that would wander around the dining area refilling the salsa bowls on tables, and I never felt like we were ever really forgotten about. For that, Pedro's gets another star! Not a bad place if we want a change of scenery. They also have a Sunday brunch buffet available.

  • WTF Guy X.

WTF is with this place's popularity? I swear they must be putting hallucinogenics in the margaritas. I truly don't think you can remember this place more fondly than 2 stars while sober. The food is comfortingly mediocre. It would neither delight nor disgust you. But the enchiladas taste like something my Irish grandmother would make, out of a can, after her dementia had started. (BTW, if it's not out of a can, I've got to see this food being prepared... the slaughter of fresh ingredients might almost be comic.) WTFs: * Why oh why-TF are the Los Gatos socialisticas hangin' at Pedros? There is such better food to be had in LG. Again, the food must be laced with something the DEA will want to investigate. I have no other explanation. * WTF is with the sweaty guy waiting on my table? His gear selector was stuck in the "iMas Rapida!" position. He f*&$ing hustled. And he was genuinely nice. He was a bright spot in a dreary place. I wish I'd gotten his name, or maybe gotten him a better job. * And WTF ever happened to the OLD Pedro's? There was a day when the food was less sucky. The servers smiled. The hostess, well, hosted. {sniff} I miss those days.

Pedro's is ridiculously yummy. There is not one thing on the menu that isn't good! My faaaavorite is the nachos! THEY ARE INDIVIDUALLY STACKED! GENIUS. Beans, chicken/steak, guac, sour cream, cheese...they are to die for. Don't even get me started on the margaritas. 2 house margs and I'm done for the night! The chicken tostada is also a favorite of mine. The best thing at Pedros, however, is their SALSA. Not chunky, yet not watery. It's perfection. I could drink that shiz.... Service is average, but the food makes up for it. HAPPY HOUR has a free buffet and half off select drinks and apps. Ladies night is Thursday night alllll night, half off drinks and apps. What are you waiting for??

Got some enchiladas here that were pretty good. The chips and salsa are good too because the salsa although it's not that hot is good. Got a big side of guacomole as well that was damn delicious. Despite what others have said I think the rice and beans were fine. Service was quick and friendly. A little on the pricey side I probably won't be back but only because there is so much better in the San Jose Area.

It's inexpensive, spent a little over $30 for 2 entrees and 2 brews. The taco salad and puffy tacos were tasty and filled us up. I thought they would have a better brew selection for a Cantina though. It felt like a chain restaurant when we walked in (El Chico, anyone?). The waitress is quick and goes through her routine like a robot. We were in and out pretty quick before the Saturday night rush came through. Check their website for a coupon that is handy for lunch on Saturday.

Santa Clara Pedro's has good Mexican food. I was disappointed with Los Gatos. The nachos are a single layer of chips on a flat dish and flavor was so so. Chicken fajita was bland and salty. I will only go to the other Santa Clara Pedro's now.

Went there last night for dinner. Service was okay--had to ask for another drink for my husband and a soda and chip refill. I judge a good Mexican restaurant by their rice and beans just for starters. I feel if you can't make good rice and beans then what is the rest of the food going to be like. The rice at Pedros is disgusting. Not sure if they use the wrong kind of rice or if they do not cook it long enough. It was horrible and had no flavor. It tasted like it was out of a box. The cheese enchilada sauce (red) tasted like it came from a can. The chili rellenos were decent but the rest of the meal was less than mediocre. We would not go back.

The atmosphere and decor is great. The service is okay. The food is bland and unappealing, especially for the price. I've been here several times and have tried several different dishes, but none of them are as good as other nearby places that cost less.

We here last weekend for dinner. Started off that the restaurant was almost empty and it took almost 10 min to get a server to take our drink order. Food came out quick after we ordered so that was nice but the food was just ok. With so many good mexican restaurants around the area Pedro's needs to do a little better.

On my last trip to Pedro's on University I noticed it was the exact same menu as Mexicali Grill at the Mercado in Santa Clara. You should not expect you will be eating at a Mexican Tacqueria when coming to Pedro's but you can expect to get some damn good Americanized Mexican food. Chile Colorado is my entree of choice and have never been let down. I guess I have been pretty fortunate as I have always had fine service, not great but exactly as I would expect from this type of restaurant. Now if you are in a hurry I would probably head down the street to Andale and get some fresh rotisserie chicken burritos.

Given this is the first Yelp review I've written, you know my experience must have been pretty awful. I'll give you the quick and dirty version: 1. Had a Groupon...only thing that got me there given the reviews already posted 2. Called to make a reservation and the receptionist said there was no need that we would get in at that time we wanted 3. Showed up at "that time" and were greeted with a 50-55 minute wait! Hostess seemed to want us to go somewhere else because she was overwhelmed by the rush. "Are you sure you want to wait?" 4. Walked around and came back 30 minutes later, to which we were told they called our name 10 minutes before 5. Asked what fish was in the tacos, waitress didn't know and asked us to name off different types of fish because it would help her remember. After a few I think she just guessed 6. Kept our empty water glasses at the end of the table as a "hint, hint" but we were ignored for a long time until we finally asked. 7. Enchilada was flat because there was nothing in it. Beans and rice were bland. Vegetables were a random variety and tasteless. Small portions. Seems like everything is out of a can and heated up. 8. Bill was $35 for two entrees and a tamale app. Tamale was the best thing in this place, but Cheescake Factory's is better All in all, if we didn't have a Groupon I would have been really annoyed. Come on, this is Los Gatos! How does this place stay open? Take a drive to Campbell and eat at Aqui. That place is AWESOME .

food was edible, but cold. the fajitas had NO sizzle!!! seared tuna came out cold so they put it in the oven to warm it! bleh. service was dreadful. had to ask for things multiple times and still wouldn't get them. been going to pedro's for years, but no more...their days are done.

I was very offended by the poor service and food at Pedro's. Our party of eight had to wait over an hour for our food even though there was hardly anyone there. We didn't have enough silverware and napkins and had to ask for more after our food was served and waited ten more minutes for them to bring paper napkins. I noticed that the empty tables had cloth napkins so I asked if we could have cloth napkins. She brought back one cloth napkin and quickly tossed it on the table in front of me. I ordered steak tacos. Instead of steak I got tiny crumbs of rock-hard charcoal. I think they had scraped them from the place where the scraps fall down to burn. They were crunchy, completely black, and inedible I swear I am not exaggerating. How does a cook do that accidentally?? Pedro's is a bar that must pretend to be a restaurant for zoning compliance. I wish they would go pretend somewhere else so a real restaurant could use the space.

This Pedro's is wayyy better than the one in Santa Clara. The interior is super cute Spanish style. I love Mexican food and this is the place to go for it! Their cheese enchiladas & Spanish rice are delish! Their portions are huge too... I highly recommend it if you want some yummy Mexican food.

I just don't think Pedro is as good as it use to be.....way back when. I know not to live in the past but sometimes you just can't help it! We've gone in Pedro's a few times each year but always walk out saying how much we missed it years ago.

I've hardly ever had anything but the nachos, because they're so good and filling (they're the only ones in NorCal that are like the ones at Ninfa's in Texas, if that means anything to you). I live in Santa Cruz, but I stop here whenever it's meal time en route to or from elsewhere. I like sitting in what seems like a sunporch of sorts along the front of the building, because it has a wall of windows, so it's not dark as it is inside, and it's quieter. Service is usually good. Recommended.

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I really didn't eat there. Let me explain: We were looking to have a buffet style breakfast while hanging out in Los Gatos and so I had been here before and remembered a different menu (or maybe I just got it confused with another place). Anyway, we go in, and get our plates for the buffet trays set up, and then we discovered that it really didn't have any of the breakfast foods that I remember (pancakes, bacon, french toast). They did have the fresh made waffle iron, the chef still made eggs and omelets, but my wife didn't want that, she wanted more of an American breakfast (which I thought was part of the buffet). They also had other delicious smelling food, but not what we had in mind at that time. We picked at some of the food, but again, were in the mood for the other stuff and left it on our plates. I spoke to the manager, Cara, who was beyond nice. She understood the situation and voided our bill, and asked us to come back when we were in the mood for Mexican and thanked us for coming by! What excellent customer service!!! I will definitely come back and revisit this place! Thank you, Cara, for being so incredibly nice!

OMG, two words. Chicken nachos. Seriously folks, get them. Happy hour is fabulous. I've been here so many times, I've lost count. Granted, thiss was back in the 80s and 90s. Is it still the same????

This is a good place to start off a fun night in Los Gatos. The chips and salsa are as solid as chips and salsa can be. The drinks are good, especially the margaritas. And che chicken nachos are among the best that can be found anywhere in the bay area. Start your night here, and then stumble out to one of the many bars that LG has to offer.

  • Ron O.

I give it 2 stars because the service is decent and it is a nice atmosphere for a Mexican place. Another positive is that they have Sierra Nevada on tap. The problem is that the food is not very good. I have been here at least five times and most of the things I have tried don't even look all that good let alone the poor taste. Also the pricing is on the high side. If the food was super good I would not mind paying a little more but for bad mexican food the pricing is off. The Happy Hour w/ the live music is your best deal at this place.

    (2)
  • Chad C.

This place has pretty good Margaritas with the chips and salsa to start the night off right, and the food to compliment it. For the price around $10 for dinner, it's a great Chevy's or El Torito alternative. The carnitas wasn't the best I've had but got the job done. That atmosphere is pretty cool, and its always nice to follow up with a walk around downtown LG

The food here is like what I would envision mexican food to taste like in England or Siberia. It's so unbelievably bad it's almost funny. The actual location and restaurant is pretty cool, but my god, could these people atleast change up the menu and get a real chef? Geesh...you'd think Los Gatos would have better taste than this!

wow. generally i frown on people who review restaurants they haven't eaten at, but now i am one. our experience was so weird i feel like i have to share it. we arrived at pedro's at about 7:45 on a friday with our toddler and baby girl. it looked like there was one party in front of us and there were plenty of open tables. we were told there was a 10 minute wait, but that's acceptable, so we settled in on a bench. the couple ahead of us was sat and another group came in. then that group was sat while the hostess kind of eyed us. there was one guy who ran back and forth between the entrance and the dining room saying our table was going to be ready in just a minute. then he came back and said our table had to be cleaned. by now, we've been there nearly 20 minutes, it's after 8 and the restaurant has empty tables, so why were we being made to wait? is there just one dedicated toddler table? ew. i do wish we'd gotten a chance to try the food, but only an idiot waits around for a table at a restaurant that's not even full.

I'm just reviewing their Happy Hour which I believe is from 4-7PM, M-F. It is one of the best in the area but wasn't as crowded as I expected (maybe since everyone else was at DD's for the Shark's game. We got a pitcher of Margarita and one of the 1/2 off appetizers all for about $20. On top of that they have a buffet of rice, beans and cheese enchiladas which were great also!

Eh. In high school my friends and I came here half a dozen times, but it was never that great. I'd usually order side orders of rice and beans and that's it. If you are looking for yummy Mexican food, go to either of Andale's locations down the street.

We loved eating here and used to come on Friday and Saturday evenings. We liked the food and the waiters' courtesy, always smiling and kind. However, the last few times we did not like the behavior of the girl at the entrance, the one that takes you to the table. Unfriendly, unprofessional, at times not even greeting us when we arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, a few times left us standing for a few minutes pretending she hasn't seen us, eventually just nodding to follow her to the table. The drop that spilled the glass. The last time, after being seated by this girl in a table we did not want and told her, we asked to a waiter to move to the booth (there were 3 free booths). We were seating at the booth, the waiter was taking our orders when the girl came back to us asking us to stand up and move from there because that booth was already booked and that she was the hostess and it was up to her to decide where we could seat. I could not believe my ears, I did not like her words and her tone; totally non respectful. My husband replied that we would not move and that, because of her, that was the last time we would eat at this place. We finished our meal and left.

pretty good...pretty good.. I had pork taco's and a margarita (salted rim of course) The pork was very tender...good flavor.. The service was just OK....I hate it when I get the sense of being up sold by a server....."oh margarita..top shelf right??...are you sure???..it's much stronger".............whatever.

2 stars is pretty low for me, usually I have to have dislike a place a lot to ding it online BUT this is just a disaster of a place most of the time for me. We used to come here all of the time when I was a kid and I really liked it but now that I am older my eyes have opened to see that it is really not good Mexican food at all. The chips and salsa are average. The food is average and the service is average and I won't be back and wouldn't bring friends here. Mys sister went here last week with her friend and said it was disgusting. The food sucked, the service was slow and the order came back wrong and she said no one was there so no excuses. She won't be back either. More lost customers for Pedros.

I went here with my folks when they were in town. I didn't really want to go here but my Dad saw it and was interested. Since he was picking up the tab, he got to choose. Honestly, i was expecting a way overpriced place with bland food. Maybe because expectations were so bad, Pedros exceeded them, but just barely. The margarita i had was decent. It would have been terrible in Houston (where i'm from and my parents still live), but for NorCal, the land of the terrible frozen margarita, it was pretty good. I was expecting everything on the menu to be in the $14-$16 for lunch just fom the looks of the place, but i think the fish tacos i ordered were around $10. The were okay. Instead of the normal white sauce you find on fish tacos this one is red (like the color of buffalo wing sauce) and has a bit of kick, which i liked. Beans were pretty good, rice was a bit dry, luckily i had the beans to mix in. The service was pretty atrocious. We stood at the hostess stand (with about 3 other groups waiting to be seated) for 10 minutes before we saw the hostess. The we got seated at a table in the corner and didn't see our waiter for 20 minutes. Drinks came pretty quickly (perhaps so we could finish our margaritas and order more?). Once we finally ordered the food took about 45 minutes to arrive. We were hoping to stop in for a quick lunch and were there almost 90 minutes. Luckily i wasn't picking up the tab, or i would be a bit more pissed off. It was okay, but on my quest to find good mexican food in the Peninsula/South Bay, i don't think i'll be returning.

Having my birthday only 4 days away from Christmas, it's usually hard to find a place to accomodate a larger group. Pedro's did just that - and my dinner party turned out to be a very fun experience. We called a few weeks before and made reservations for 12. They called us back the morning before the party to confirm (very professional of them) and we upped the number to 17. They said "no problem!" When we arrived we took advantage of their happy hour (1/2 price margaritas) and then went to the table, where we were seated in the back. The service was great, we had a party of 17, and everyone had a good time. I loved my shrimp fajitas and can't wait to go back. My cousin didn't like his fish tacos because they put a mayo sauce on it, but he liked what was on his date's plate... :) All in all - they were very accommodating and I'd recommend this place for a large group. Our bill was split 17 ways and was about $30/person - with lots of alcohol - so I'd say it was a pretty good deal. We headed to Campo di Bocce afterwards and it was very convenient for everyone to drive over there.

I'm sorry there isn't a place for ZERO stars. My husband and I had a late bunch here on Sunday, the food was "eh" so I only tried a little bit of a few items on the buffet. My reward? The absolute worst food poisoning I've ever had in my life! Not only did I spend my entire Sunday evening being violently ill, it's Thursday and I'm still only able to keep down dry toast and sprite. I sent an e-mail to the manager and received ZERO response. Not even a sorry or a lame "wasn't our food" note. I will never go here again. I'm just sorry I have to drive by this crappy place every time I go to get my hair cut from now on. I'm sure I'll be dry heaving the entire way. Disgusting.

I really want to give an extra star for this place, I really can't because the only thing memorable about this place is their chips & salsa! I thank God that i munched on that thing before my food actually came out. I did my my homeword before I went to this restaurant; it was a 3 star rating and I wrote down some of the stuff in the menu that people recommended over yelp. so i ordered one, while some of the other people ordered another one. I couldn't find a single person that enjoyed their food! I ordered the Enchilada Del Mar: it had some cheap salad tiny shrimp inside and sour cream cooked over and covered the whole enchilada. the inside didn't taste too bad, but the combination of the hot sour cream kinda made it taste like enchilada with some kind of weird Italian taste "wannabe" twist to it. my frozen margarita wasn't impressive! I'd pick Margaritaville on the strip of Las Vegas, anyday!!! but everyone else didn't mind their drinks...so there, I gave it an extra star!! 1 for the chips & salsa, and 1 for the drinks! Would I go again? Maybe for another birthday occassion: but next time, I will know to only drink and eat free chips & salsa=)

Come on people! Ok, for a prime location in Downtown Los Gatos here is what I have to say: The food was just ok. Kinda greasy. The service however is very good. They were very attentive and polite. The ambiance is the worst part. It's like 1987 called and wants their floral decor and paper flowers back! It's also kinda dirty. I was afraid to touch anything kind of place. If you do go, try and sit in the front window section...that seems to be a little cleaner but the booths were Nasty! It is in need of a serious facelift and why not? It is Los Gatos afterall.

I wasn't particularly impressed with the food here. For the price, you don't get very much (my friends split the nachos -- each of them got 5 chips. Um seriously?). All I can think when I think Pedro's is "meh." This will sound stupid but bear with me -- I ordered a side of beans and rice with tortillas (yes I was being cheap) and was unimpressed. Yeah, somehow they managed to "blah" up the most basic ingredients. The rice was mushy, I could barely get through it. The sangria was decent -- get a pitcher. So yeah, at least I got buzzed for a decent price. But you can find way better Mexican food nearby -- head to El Burro in Campbell, or even Andale if you're not looking for atmosphere. Or suck it up, drive 15 minutes to San Jose and get real Mexican food!

Great Margaritas! Just had to get that out first. I have been coming here regularly for a couple years now and have very mixed feelings. The food is okay, the service is okay, the chips and salsa are not the best, which is very important to me in a Mexican Restaurant. So why do I return you ask? Besides the margs. Well there are some good things. Great Happy Hour in the Bar: cheap drinks and free appetizers set out where you can just help yourself. Kids eat free Tuesdays and Wednesdays, this works out well for all my friends with kids to get out and not have to spend a fortune. And there is a giant bowl of mints at the hostess stand. I always help myself to at least one of each on my way out.

The service is really sad. I had to track down the hostess, and it took 15 mins to find her. She asked us to wait and left, again. Should've just walked out, then. But had a squirmy hungry kid.. Service was really slow and our waitress never got the extra salsa we asked for, to make the food less bland. Had to ask some other random waitress to get us some. Then asked for a box for leftovers, and didn't get that either. And yes, the food sucked. Plus it was overpriced. Please, please don't patronize this place. It deserves a jolt, to get its act together.

So I went to Pedro's yesterday for the first time... I would have gave them 5 stars.... but the whole reason we went out for Mexican was because for some reason my friends and I were craving this Mexican drink called horchata... we were going to go down the street to andale's but we decided to try something new and they didn't even have horchata there... bummer... other than that my only complaints were that is was kinda pricey for Mexican food and I ordered the enchilada suizas and normally I'm accustomed to the enchilada suizas coming with avocado... here at Pedro's I had to order avocado on the side... other than that I was very pleased and would definitely go back for more. The restaurant atmosphere was very nice. I was very comfortable there, although the paintings are a bit tacky... I have to say the best part was the service was our server Diana. She was super attentive. She kept our drinks refilled, our chips refilled, every time we needed something she was there and brought it to us right away and was friendly as well... I felt bad because it seems every time she came to our table we needed something else, but she had a smile on her face and was happy to get us everything we needed. The food was good too, no complaints with the food, but it was traditional mexican food nothing spectacular.

Mexican food is one of my favorite things on the planet and this place was REALLY good. The chips and salsa were up to my very picky standards (not too chunky and quite spicy!), and the guacamole tasted SO good. I ate so much of the chips and salsa/guac that I ended up only getting an appetizer for my meal...it was a shrimp dish that tasted pretty good, although I could have done without the cilantro sauce that came on it. One star gone for the fact that we had to wait a while before the waiter even acknowledged us, but after all that, everything went great!

We lived in this area before and Pedro's was one of our favorite places, and since we have moved back we were SO looking forward to going back. I have to say the Whole Experience was a disappointment. We got there in the middle of a Saturday afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all, but it still took them about 10 minutes to come seat us. Then the menu . . .totally changed. My husband always loves to have the carnitas burrito, but that's not on the menu anymore. But they DO have a steak burrito, and they DO have carnitas, so it wouldn't be that hard to substitute carnitas for steak. The waiter went back to to the kitchen to ask them to do that, and then came back and said "they don't want to make that because it was on the old menu." SERIOUSLY? What happened to The customer is always right? They don't want to make it? He ended up getting the carnitas tostada and was disappointed because the carnitas didn't even have any flavor. We will definitely be finding a new Mexican restaurant!

I really don't like this place. The food isn't very good. I love Mexican food, and I'll eat just about any type. I went there about 3 or 4 years ago, and decided it was a bad idea to go back. At that time, the staff was inattentive and food wasn't great. I was not pleased when my office recently decided to have our end of the year party there. We were stuffed into an alcove, and I mean stuffed. I kind of sat in the same place all night and could finally go to the bathroom once the crowd thinned out and started to go home. I didn't get what I had ordered, but I ate what they gave me. It wasn't very good. I never leave anything on my plate. I'm a plate cleaner, and I left just about everything there. The chips were good. I should also mention that it was complete chaos when the food came out. They were not organized about which meal went where. They just started shouting out what they had and people were shouting back if it was theirs. Not very professional. I wouldn't recommend going there.

Ive been dining at Pedro's for more than 15 years, and I must say that although it has been a favorite of mine it has definitely gone down hill a little bit. The service has gotten a little bad. The food on the other hand is very tasty. I always order a chicken enchilada with rice and beens. It has had the same taste since the first time I order it. The chips and salsa are good, and if you ask the waiter for "salsa verde" they will bring it on request. The chicken nachos area also good. The put the ingredients on each chip individually making sure that every bite has equal distribution of cheese, chicken, sour cream, and guacamole. This place is great for birthdays, and I would still reccomend it after all of these years!

We hadn't been to Pedro's in well over a year. Not sure why we stopped going there..However, Pedro's Los Gatos seems to be trying to up-leveled their look and feel as well as their waiter staff. We went at 6:30pm on a Friday night, it was pretty busy and we were able to get a table right away. We had a nice meal and a very courteous waiter. The food was hot and seemed fresh. The Guacamole seemed pre-made but it tasted fine. The Margarita I got was really great. It's also family friendly which is a plus. We'll go back again.

So, I work right on university, and I've been in here several times for lunch. Once was pretty good, once was very unremarkable, and the last time I went in was without question the absolute worst mexican food I have ever had in my life. Maybe worst food period... I went for lunch with my mom, and we both got chile relleno/enchilada combo platters. For some inexplicable reason, everything tasted VERY strongly of cinnamon, and I can't even begin to describe how bad my mom's chicken enchilada was. It was like some bizzarre cross between the aforementioned cinnamon, about a pound of ground chipotle, and a cup of apple cider vinegar. Oh, and every time I've gone, I noticed an overpowering stench of urinal cakes that wafts over the entryway. Blech... I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

I just had a cage match between Il Fornaio in Palo Alto versus Pedro's Cantina in Los Gatos. And this is my report on Pedro's! Middle of the day, waiting for hair to be cut and styled, wandered in just shy of crappy hour. Was joined one Cadillac Margarita in. The Cadillac was on the rocks very well mixed and liquored up! Sean the bartender was friendly accommodating non intrusive--Good freaken bartender! Free chips and salsa--very delicious. By the way they were $7.50 each! My lovely iChef colleague ordered chicken nachos which was recommended to her by her hair person and what a fantastic surprise! Everyone loves nachos, but who actually likes picking up one chip that has be joined at the hip of the chip by all his brothers, sisters, the whole freaken family--well, not me, we are not animals! The nachos at Pedro's are far from the ordinary mess of chips, with assorted colors of crap glued together with cheese! Nachos at Pedro's I highly recommend! Each tortilla chip is its own individual tapas delight. A little chicken, a little salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese--ooh-lala! The best rendition of nachos I've had outside my own! As it was now the happiest of hours a Negro Modelo was in order and they brought out the crappy hour fare--chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The chicken enchiladas blew away the cannelloni from the night before! How is that? Even Pedro's crappy hour food was more tasty and at a price that can't be beat! Pedro's in Los Gatos the clear winner, kicked Il Fornaio of Palo Alto's butt of --it wasn't even a contest, it wasn't even close. I will definitely be back to Pedro's and recommend you go there! This one falls right between 3 and 4 stars, but im going to go ahead and go with 3. Pros: Bartender and bar were good, i like the fact that you serve your own chips. Also although we went on a Saturday, the happy hour prices looked really good so we may have to check that out. Nachos were good, simple but good nonetheless. I like the restaurants interior, especially the table we got out front with a breeze from window Cons: A little too Chevys for me Our drinks took forever to get there, and the draft beer selection was not great. Ehs: Food was good, not great. Service was decent, except the food did come super quick, even before our drinks = feeling rushed. I will go back, but probably just for happy hour.

I have been here probably 20 times or so. I would never call it the best authentic Mexican food you can get around town, nor the best atmosphere, but it was always still considered decent, and had me coming back. After my experience tonight, I will think again. It was bad from the moment we walked in the door! Jon W. has the smell down. The moment I came in the door it smelled like a public restroom! Not appetizing! The usually busy restaurant in trendy upscale downtown Los Gatos was dead at nearly 6pm on a Saturday. Still the hostess gave us a horrible table in the back. We requested to move and we sat at a better table--however it did not look clean. We waited 10 min before being asked about drinks. There was no silver wear on the table until we asked twice, and no water or chips/salsa until we asked. After ordering our drinks, we waited another good 10 minutes. When they arrived my date's straight up drink that should have been served right away to keep it cold had turned tepid from sitting on the bar waiting to be picked up. We order our dinner and then seem to wait around forever for our food. It finally arrives and I'm brought the wrong dish (I ordered cheese enchiladas and got beef). It also did not come with any of the salsa/guacamole/sour cream listed on the menu. My dates dinner--they forgot one of the main sides--the beans! We both were just amazed... I politely told the waitress the order was wrong and she took it back, and she brought my date the rest of his meal. Well then because they got my order wrong I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to bring me the correct dish while my date's meal was ready to eat. This really ruined it after everything. It gets worse though... When my cheese enchiladas finally came--the cheese was rubbery and tasted like it had been sitting, again waiting for our waitress to pick it up. I took about two bites. We were both so disgusted. My dates fish tacos (snapper) were NOT fresh and the entire meal and experience was so disappointing that he requested to speak to the manager. The manager was polite and took my meal and his drink off the tab, but then must have said something to our waitress right afterward, as she comes over awkwardly apologizing. Too late, and very awkward. I am hoping it was just a very bad night for them, and will try it once more but not for awhile. My one star is based on past experiences only. Tonight was a big fat zero! Stinky restaurant, service and food!

Eh. . . That's all I really have to say about this place. I would come here again, but only for drinks at the bar. I ordered the cheese enchiladas when I came. The menu should have said "Onion enchiladas" No flavor in the food. I was not impressed.

We for dinner last night, and it was our first time sitting down in the restaurant. Up until last night, we had only eaten at the bar, which was always great. Their restaurant service is terrible, they're very slow and unattenative. Their food is pretty good, but the service ruins it. My advice would be to stay at their bar. Much better service!

If you're thinking, maybe I'll give Pedro's a try...Stop! Don't do it! Remember the old style, early 1980's mexican restaurants that brought Mexican food into fashion? They were kind of great then, but alas, that was 28 years ago. If you like "Americano" style Mexican food, you'll enjoy this place. If you like fresh, deliciously prepared Mexican food - steer clear. Also, if you plan to go during Happy Hour (we thought we'd get a drink first, then sit down), don't plan on bringing your Happy Hour drink to your table. It was a big no-no when we were there and a major turnoff. We were told we'd have to order the same drinks from our table at the non happy hour price. Hmmm....

Services... services... This is why the restaurant category falls into the "Service industry". Without service, a restaurant can do no better. Back on my soap box about restaurants providing decent food but disappointing services. We came here for Sunday dinner prior to Halloween, and all the hostess/waiters/waitresses were dressed up in costumes. That's cute, and when we indicated that we have 3 adults and one 5-week-old infant, the hostess replied "Does that mean you want one kids menu?" Umm, hello? The baby is 5 weeks old, he can't even hold his neck up let alone eat real food! We were led to a table with no lighting, so we have no idea that we were eating. Nonetheless, the food was pretty decent, even though the restaurant was very busy. Similar to their other location in San Jose, the service suffered big time when they get busy. In all, we saw our waiter twice; once to take our order, and another time to give us the bill. Our water was never refilled even though we asked three separate times. We asked for a refill on chips and salsa, and got only chips (how do you eat chips without salsa?). Our table received no service for the entire evening, despite having well-prepared dishes. I know the 2-star ranking is a bit harsh, but this should serve as a warning to restaurants out there with no clue on how to provide a satisfactory customer experience; you need more than just food! Just imagine how a meal can be ruined with a vanished waiter and terribly dried out mouths. This is not justifiable for an upscale Mexican restaurant located in Los Gatos.

Terrible describes Pedros. There was a loud band on Thurs. night so you couldn't hear anyone talk above the music anywhere in the restaurant. The wait staff were literally running around the restaurant, yet it took l5 minutes for someone to take our drink order, and another l0 to take our dinner order Cosmopolitan, which took another l0 minutes to get, was terrible. Food was fair but overpriced. Noise level was LOUD. The location and restaurant itself has potential. Too bad they can't get it together.

I have a passion for good Mexican food and Margaritas however and unfortunately that ain't happening here. Long wait at the table with mediocre and unidentifable meats does not bode well. The server was nice and tried her best but the bill was inaccurate (in their favor of course). The Margarita was ok, barely, which is the greatest sin my book. The best part was the chips and salsa. Overrated I hate to say however the Santa Clara Pedro's is much better.

Having lived in Los Gatos my entire life, Pedro's has always been a go-to spot for myself, my family and my friends. The food is delicious (the chicken nachos and fajitas are stellar) and the location perfect (park in the Bank of America lot across the street on the weekends or after-hours). While I have always been a die-hard supporter of this establishment, I am writing this review because the service has simply become unacceptable. This past week, I found myself at Pedro's two nights in a row. Night One: Sitting in the corner of the main room of the restaurant, my cousins and I waited twenty minutes after being seated before we saw another living soul. We were provided with no water, no chips... not even a glance in our direction. As more and more time ticked by, I went to politely ask the hostess if she could send someone our way. The young woman became so bent-out-of-shape at my request that I returned to our table shell-shocked and more than a little confused. Ten minutes later, our server showed up and took our order. No introduction, no apology, no eye contact. We didn't see him again until I had to go hunt him down to get our bill. In fact, besides the busboy who brought our meals, we failed to see another employee at all. At one point during the meal, my cousin became so thirsty that she could not continue eating. We tried to wave down several employees, including the manager-on-duty, but to no avail. Upon our departure from the restaurant, we burst into laughter about this horrific experience because it seemed so out of the ordinary. Little did I know things would only get worse the next night! Night Two: Arrived at Pedro's, expecting redemption. Instead, I felt like I was walking into the desert. The restaurant was so hot that our party, which consisted of both older adults and very young children, immediately started feeling woozy. This time, there were 12 of us present for a going away party, so I assumed our server would be attentive in hopes of a receiving a large tip. Yet once again, we waited. And waited. And waited. As it was so sweltering, we all became quite parched. But again, there was no one in sight to help us out. About half an hour into this debacle, I called out to the manager as she sped by. Asking if we could, "please, please, please have some water", she smiled warmly at me and said she would send someone right over. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Another ten minutes later, a busboy arrived bearing TWO precious glasses of water. As I mentioned, there were TWELVE of us. We ended up passing the waters around, each taking a small sip as we tried to cool down. When the air conditioning was eventually turned on, they cranked it up so high that all our menus literally went flying across the table. We were transported from the Sahara to Alaska within seconds! By the time our food arrived, we were forced to huddle over our entrees for a tiny bit of warmth. As silly and ridiculous as this seems, I am sadly not exaggerating. All in all, I was astoundingly appalled at the not only the service, but also the conditions to which we were subjected at Pedro's. As a long-time and loyal customer, it breaks my heart to see the restaurant taking such a nose dive.

Sizeable portions. Good food...the Chile Colorado was delicious. We went for a late lunch/early dinner around 5. The service wasn't great but we'd consider coming back again if we weren't in a rush.

I grew up in Saratoga and spent a lot of time on LG. I have been to Pedro's countless times. It's always been ok to good. Food prices are reasonable (especially for LG), parking ok (there is a large lot in back but sometimes you have to park a little ways away). Recently (about 2-3 weeks ago), my husband and I joined another couple here for dinner. My friend was raised in LG and was also very familiar with Pedro's. My husband and I got there first so we decided to wait in the bar and get a drink. As we walked through the front door there were two women standing in the hostess area, one very friendly and all smiles and the other seemed like she was in training and has no CS experience, she didn't squeaked out even a tiny smile or say anything. We were the only two the bar, it was kind of early, and the bartender was eating. She jumped right out of her sit as soon as we walked in and was behind the bar waiting on us. I'm pregnant so I had a Sprite but my husband had a Margarita, which he said was very good (he used to be a bartender and knows a good drink). The bar keep didn't go back to her meal but rather stayed and chatted with us as she worked behind the bar. She was very friendly and outgoing. :) When our friends came in they too ordered drinks from her while we waited for our table. They had no complaints. When our table was ready, we followed the hostess, who never once looked back at us or asked how we were that evening. She put our menus down and simply walked off, never bothered to ask if the table was ok and may have told us to enjoy or meal but I couldn't understand her because she rudely had her back turned to us as she spoke! I didn't think much of it until I saw her sit two other tables on either side of us and have the same rude routine. I said something out loud about her at our table and that's when my friend chimed in and said the hostess gave her a look from head to toe when they walked in and was very unfriendly. Geez. Too bad as this is your first impression of a restaurant when you arrive, the hostess. She was so awful I was sure something terrible had to have happened in her life recently. At any rate, our server was awesome. She was friendly and attentive. The buser was always at our table filling our waters too. We all enjoyed our food very much. It wasn't outrageously delicious but it was good and we all were happy. Would have given another star if the hostess was not so terrible!

Pedro's is okay. For the price, the food isn't that great. I've had better for cheaper many times in my life. Also the service was incredibly slow, our server basically ignored us. I may have come in expecting too much though because I had heard great things about it. I'm not likely to go back anytime soon.

A friend and I went for lunch the other day because the place we wanted to go was'nt open. This was a big mistake. Overpriced "white" mexican food that isn't much better than Taco Bell. The service was good and so was the salsa but one tiny chicken enchilada plate for $9.00 was too much. My friend had an $8.00 burrito! Are you kidding me she had it finished in about five minutes. Not enough food for the prices they are charging and a rather boring menu all around. This place must have a good bar scene to keep it afloat.

Pretty good Mexican food. I ordered one of the combo meals and the chile reano (sp?) was damn good. I can't speel it, but I can eat it! My fiance got a chicken salad that was very good, but the chicken was a bit spicy for her taste. Salsa and chips were awesome! Some of the best salsa around. Inside, the place it a bit weird. I didn't like the tiny tables for two, you couldn't put a pair of drinks and a pair of plates anywhere that you didn't think they would spill or fall. Also the blathering LG "homemakers" that sit around and shit talk as a sport wears on you as the dinner goes on. The service was good and prompt, the food was hot and fresh. Limited beer menu and they didn't have much in terms of non-tequila drinks. I *know* it's a Mexican place, but that doesn't mean they can skimp on the other drinks.

I have been going to pedros for 7+ years and have seen it go down hill throughout the years. It used to be my FAVORITE but My family and I ate dinner there last night, and it was the worst experience i have ever had! First they changed their menus and took off a ton of items. After our waiter finally got there after 10 minutes of us sitting around, I ordered cheese enchiladas which used to be HUGE but when our waiter brought it out for me, they were TINY. They were rock hard and had absolutely no sauce on top of them, like they were in the oven for 5 hours just waiting for someone to order them. They also changed their rice. I am very disapointed and will be looking for other mexican places to eat. Super sad.

Very disappointed with our evening. The food was ok, not the greatest. The service was ok, the waiter was not the most friendliest. The worst part of the evening was when they sang Happy Birthday to my friend, they used ponchita which refers to someone who is pudgy, chubby. Hmmmm do you think this is what we wanted to hear..really! I knew what it meant, and we asked our waiter to define that word for us he knew that he was busted, and we were offended. When a phone call was made the manager who has worked there for 8 years never knew that it meant that...really! We left the restaurant very disappointed! It used to be fun and now it just a old place that needs some updating, deep cleaning and a new song to sing to people! ponchita - 1 definition - noun. little fat girl

Pedro's oh Pedro's how you have gone down hill... A few months back this place had a couple of dishes that I frequently told people were the best of their kind. Sadly, they have redone their menu removing many of the items that were so good. Their service was always awful, but last night was the last straw for me. We arrived, ordered right away, and then sat for a full hour waiting for our entrees. When the entrees arrived, the plates were hot but the food was mostly cold. One of the things I had ordered on my combo plate was a beef tamale, which had no beef in it at all. Who orders a corn tamale??? They didn't even refill our salsa for 45 minutes, and several tables who had arrived after us all received their food before us. If I could give this place zero stars I would...

My BF and I went to Pedro's on Halloween, (before hitting the bars on Santa Cruz.) We were seated right away, and the restaurant was less than half full. Which led me to believe service would be pretty efficiant. I was very wrong! We waited for water for too long, and they were brought by a busser,(which I wouldn't care about at all, but it meant we had to wait even longer to give our order.) I was a bit disappointed that their snapper, (used in grilled fish tacos, and such) was already marinated in some mystery spicy sauce. I can't eat stuff like that, and it's never been a problem getting grilled fish tacos anywhere else. The only fish they had that wasn't marinated, was their salmon. So , i ended up with salmon in flour tortillas. They were pretty good, and the special order was no problem with the waiter. My guy liked his ok, (at least the parts he ate.) Overall though, not impressed. When we needed anything else, we had to flag down another waiter. He was great, too bad he wasn't our waiter. Our actual waiter was nowhere to be found, pretty annoying. Food's ok, service.....not so much. i prefer tacquerias!

The best thing about this Pedro's is the location. The food was mediocre and the service is not the best. This review is based on more than one visit to this location. I tried very hard to like it more, but I feel that the food could be better! On the other hand, the brunch is Excellent! At least at the Santa Clara location..that I would rate 4 stars! But for the Mexican food alone..I leave this place feeling like I've experienced better..

I think so differently compared to the reviews so far. I've been here a few times and I haven't really found anything l like. I went there yesterday and we had a really shitty hostess who wouldn't let us sit in the AC area. My husband was so pissed especially after going to 4 other mex restaurants who didn't have AC. The waitress noticed we were hot and moved us. I ordered the fish tacos. It looked so good when I got it but I just didn't like the taste of it. I was able to eat one taco but it wasn't good. My husband ordered a fish dish, which is a first for him. He enjoyed his, but did not like the atmosphere at all. It also smelled like my grandma's house..what's up with that???

Both Pedro's locations have a cool Mexican look and feel with unique furnishings and decorations along with good food, and a nice menu selection. Execution of the flavors here aren't anything extraordinary, but they are successful in creating a laid back yet festive Mexican experience with good food. Of course Pedro's gives you more selection than a taqueria and more flavor and authenticity than chain restaurants. I'd probably eat here once every couple weeks if I lived nearby.

decent prices but something always leaves me wanting for more taste from the food. The bar is cramped and the TV's look like they were purchased in 1989. It's time for an overall update to the interior.

Love the Drinks. Service is quick. Food is slightly above average. I give it the benefit of the doubt since its relatively inexpensive in the LG!

There are a ton of good mexican places in the south bay. This isn't one of them. The food here is below average. They have okay drinks. The times I came here the service was slow. Not one of my favorite places. I ONLY come here when i am forced.

One star for the gorgeous interior. To call the food mediocre would be kind. The shrimp diablo sauce tasted like tomato paste with some cayenne.

I ate here the other night with some family (party of 8). As we walked in, we told the host party of eight. There was 6 of us already. she said ok, when the rest of your party gets here, we will seat you. A couple minutes later 2 guys walked in and said there was a party of 8... she sat them right away. My mom asked her can we be sat too? The host asked us if we were ready to order? We didn't even have the menus and were still in the lobby!!! When I mentioned that we were still in the lobby and don't even have menus she answered oh well I have some here. Ugh! Finally she sat us, was really rude. I would have complained but the service was great! And the food is awsome (try the fajita salad). My dad's birthday would have been perfect if he wasn't so offended by the host.

I like Pedros even though it's nothing fabulous but it's consistent and I love chips and salsa. Sunday brunch is good and I like the happy hour.

Eh... is exactly right. Good margarita, good flan, but the entree was disappointing. Probably would give it three stars, but when I asked the waiter if they used beef stock in the enchilada sauce he looked at me like I just committed some heinous crime. "I'm sorry that I'm a vegetarian; I know it must be an inconvenience to you to have to answer my annoying and tedious questions, but if I eat any beef stock I will become violently ill." Well, that's what I was thinking, anyway. I try to be nice about it b/c I know a lot of people don't understand that b/c I haven't eaten meat in 15 years, my body has lost the ability to digest any meat, meat products, stock, etc... I know, too much information. Regardless, I wish he would have been a little more polite about it. Hence, my two stars.

They have changed the menu and it was not a good thing. My salmon dish had a off taste and the rice with celantro was not good either. They also have ended their relationship with passport card and never notified passport of their position. They should handle this in a businesslike manner and get their restaurant off of the passport web site.

I hosted a baby shower here recently, and was impressed with the food as well as the service. The manager, Jonathan Loria, was especially helpful and accommodating of our needs and wishes for the shower. The guests enjoyed the food; the Enchiladas del Mar was especially popular. I'd recommend this restaurant for a small or large group.

Stopped in for Mother's Day dinner. The waiters were friendly and the place was clean. My Margarita was not the best I had ever had. The chips were stale. How could the chips be stale? The salsa was liquid - not the best I had ever had. The food was worse. I think they had the food prepared and sitting in an oven for 12 hours plus. The chicken burrito was DRY. This place is hit or miss. Sometimes it is decent and other times it is horrible. Last night the food was horrible! There are other places to eat good Mexican food in Los Gatos! Save your money.

This is a great mexican restaurant. Just went again lastnight...but my entree was cold. :c They took it off the bill for me ( i didin't eat it ). That was nice. I normally don't have any complaints about this place...but I've heard others around me complain. It's a pretty tasty joint.

Local mexican favorite, but the service tends to piss me off a bit. Good food, great chips and salsa and the drinks are good. Always a ton of energy too. But for a mexican place where sometimes you just want to eat, the food takes a bit long to come out...you'll be there for an hour and a half if not 2 hours. Plus they make you wait to sit down for 20 mins regardless if they have tables ready - they want you to order a drink in the bar. I have been there 20 times and have gotten the same exact treatment every time...and that now really bugs the crap out of me. Personally, I would rate this place 2 stars, but the nachos are awesome, and i know a ton of people that crave it, so I give it 3.

Another mediocre restaurant. I prefer Andales that is close by, but for a nicer sit down restaurant, this place is alright. Just regular Americanized Mexican food.

The food here is good, maybe a level above a Chevy's chain. I came here twice in one week, for lunch & dinner. Ordered a chorizo enchilada dish for lunch which wasn't bad, and had possibly my first steak fajitas ever for dinner & that was DELICIOUS. I happened to see it being served at the table next to ours & that got my attention. Very attentive service.

Well, I am sad to say that this place has really gone downhill. My entire family and extended family always loved this place but I recently planned a birthday party for my mom there with 11 people and everyone was shocked at how poor the service was. The worst part was that I took my lunch hour to go get a beautiful cake and bring it to Los Gatos to give to the hostess so that it would be there for our dinner. The hostess assured me that they would bring it out and even told me it would cost 10 dollars to serve it, which I said was fine as long as they didn't forget to bring it out! When it came time for desert, they brought out a small desert for only my mom and sang happy birthday but there was no cake! Then, when we went back to ask where the cake was, nobody could find it! They had to look around for 15 minutes and then they brought it out and set it down, without giving us a knife to cut it, plates, nothing. The table was still covered with all our dirty food plates too, so it was not the most pleasant experience. The hostess and server never even came by to apologize for the mishap either. I was so disappointed in the whole experience. Most of the meals were pretty bland as well, but the service was the worst. The server only appeared a few times during the whole event. Sad, I loved Pedros until this experience. :(

Went last night for dinner. The wait was about 20 minutes, so of course we went to the bar. I got a mojito, and of course, it was yummy. There was only one bartender, and the bar had a good amount of people in it, so it took her a little bit to get to us, but she acknowledged us right away, so that was nice. Our table was ready shortly, and we were seated. A minute or so later, we were brought chips, salsa and water. And then we waited. And waited. Eventually, our waitress popped by and told us she would be with us in a minute. She apologized for the delay, and let us know that they were a little backed up that night. I took that to mean short staffed on the holiday weekend. So by the time she came back, we just ordered everything that we wanted. No sense in dragging out the experience even longer. We got the guacamole, I got nachos, he got enchiladas carnitas. He also ordered another drink. Then we ate chips and salsa, and talked, and waited. Our waitress came back around and again apologized for the delay. James asked if he could get his drink. She apologized again, and left. She returned shortly with a drink. Our guac came at some point after that, and it was quite good. Eventually, our meals came, but by then, I was so damn full from the hour or so I spent eating chips and salsa, that I could barely eat my nachos. However, they were tasty, and if I hadn't eaten a whole bag of tortilla chips previous to getting them, I probably would have eaten most if not all of them. The best part of the night was the mojitos, and while the rest of the food wasn't bad in any way, it certainly wasn't worth the wait. I appreciate the fact that they apologized for the wait several times, but it didn't really make up for it.

When I was here, it took a while for my b/f and I to get seated. Once we did it also took a while for the server to take our order. The chips were disgusting. They were stale and just yucky!!! The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is b/c I ordered the mole chicken enchiladas (it was a huge risk). The reason it was such a huge risk for me is that mole is not an easy dish to make really good. i grew up with my moms mole that was delicious and I have not been able to find anyone who makes it as good as her. So my mole enchiladas tasted exactly like the mole I'm use to!!! I was so happy and I will only go back for that dish.

I'm in love with their shredded chicken tacos! I've been going to Pedro's religiously for almost 15 years. The salsa definitely isn't as good as it was a few years ago. I think the new chef changed the recipe. It used to be this great fire roasted, fresh taste. BUT the other item menus make up for it. It's also a great place for parties - nice lively atmosphere and they can accomodate large groups.

This place used to be great - and always full, but it kind of fell a couple years ago, and has slowly rebuilt a reputation. Anyway, the service is unreliable - sometimes good, sometimes bad. The margaritas are pretty good, and the food is great Americanized Mexican.

  • Why Y.

I truly don't know how this place stays in business...Service was very bad. And the drinks are so watered down. We asked the waiter what we had to order to get a drink that had a little kick to it...His answer was to get premium liquor...I think $5.95 is enought to pay for a drink at a place like this...the food arrived cold (we were a party of 7) and it was totally bland. No zip to the dishes...Yes, the setting is charming. But you need a lot more than that to be successful. You won't find me heading back here...When it came time to divide the bill I wanted to shred the 2 $20 dollar bills and scream..

We were cramped! Our table was crammed in the middle of the room with traffic going through all sides. Luckily, there were the drinks to make you forget about the ho-hum food and the constant bumps to your chair as people drunkenly walk by.

chips and salsa mmm free chips and salsa at the bar good times. I have a soft spot for the pedros because my best friend used to work there so we always get killer service and she always has recommendations i usually try to make it there for lunch i can never finish their dinner portions and the prices are lower. but more importantly chips and salsa free chips and salsa mmmmm

Either Andales location brings more to the table than Pedro's. In the early 90's, the LG divorcee coke scene briefly flirted with Pedro's before settling on Steamer's as its home. Now that I'm getting on in years and beginning to brush up on that demographic, I wish I knew of its current whereabouts.

**WARNING** If you're expecting the buffet brunch at the Los Gatos location to be similiar to the Santa Clara location, it's VERY different. There's no sausage or bacon (NO BACON??!) in the buffet, no bottomless mimosas and the dessert table is very lackluster with only 3 or 4 options. Some positives - even at 11am they had happy hour drink specials at the bar. The chili colorado was great and both the bartender and our server were pleasant. Unfortunately, that's not enough to make me want to go back to that location. It's all about Santa Clara for me!

Good service, atmosphere was too loud but it was a Friday night. I had the lobster tacos that were the "special", not a good choice, was tasteless and rubbery. Should have known by how much a server promoted it.

Short Version: Good food, strong well-made margaritas, friendly service, and a clean dining area and (dog friendly) outside patio. I'm surprised this place hasn't been packed any of the times that I've come. Extended Version: Chips & Salsa - 4 stars - You get a pretty good sized basket full of chips and some good salsa that's just a little spicy yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… Nachos w/ Grilled Chicken - 3 1/2 stars - $9 for the nachos + $2 to add chicken - They do a great job putting this together and making it look really nice and fancy, but looks aren't everything - There's not nearly enough chips, and a lot of the chips in the nachos are already soggy by the time it gets to your table. Until they figure this out, use the chips left over from your chips & salsa, or ask for another basket of chips and you'll be all good yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… Fajita Quesadilla w/ Grilled Steak - 4 stars - $8 for the quesadilla + $4 to add steak - Good quality steak-meat, sautéed peppers and onions, and a generous amount of cheese made this one of the better quesadillas I've had around here, and it comes w/ some good guacamole and sour cream for you to dip it in yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… House Margarita - 3 1/2 stars - Pre-made the day/night before w/ Montezuma Tequila - For only $6.50, you get a pretty good and strong margarita. If you drink it w/ the straw, you'll definitely taste the tequila in it, but sip from the glass, and you won't notice how strong it is until the tequila hits you yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr… Misc. - The covered, shaded outdoor patio is dog friendly, and they do a great job keeping it clean all the time - Service is always very attentive and friendly, and when I show up w/ my dog, they treat her great and offer to bring her out a bowl of water as soon as we get seated yelp.com/biz_photos/pedr…

We came here for the first time tonight. We don't live in town and got off the freeway on our way to Santa Cruz. So glad we did. The place was empty but it was early, maybe 3:30 on a Friday so I wasn't worried. Absolutely DELICIOUS chips and salsa. I had steak nachos which were pretty darn good but my mom had the skirt steak salad which was completely amazing. So the downside to Pedro's and I totally get some of the negative reviews....the service sucks. Our waiter never came back and we waited forever to get our check. But I'd rather have good food and bad service than vice versa!

I have been going to Pedro's for 30 years! It isn't the best Mexican food around but it's usually decent and easy to get into. We went early tonight (6;30pm on a Monday) and got a table right away. We waited for 20 -25 minutes before chips and salsa were delivered. We did not see a waitress for 30 minutes! We asked her for water and ordered drinks and dinner- waited another 20 minutes and never received even a glass of water. A group of 8 came in and sat next to us and were served drinks within 10 minutes. I went to talk to the manager and could not find anyone anywhere. I came back to our table- still nothing - so we decided to leave. I have never done that before but I have NEVER had service that bad. There are so many good restaurants nearby that we won't be going back to Pedro's again!

I grew up coming here with my family every Friday until my 2nd sister was born and could do nothing but scream. So we stopped coming. At the time I was about 7 and I just loved the bean burrito kids meal. Not for the burrito - no it was very hard to eat. But the beans and cheese were to die for. That and the shirley temple. So many fun memories :) Fast forward 20 years and I go there with my boyfriend every couple months. We like Chevy's and El Burro too, but what I like best about Pedros is the constant chip and salsa refills. They are seriously on top of it like no other. The last few times I've ordered the Enchiladas Suiza - it is always delicious. Still love those beans and cheese. My boyfriend likes the Combination plate where he gets the chile relleno, shredded beef enchilada and the chicken enchilada. One time I did order him that to go though and they forgot the chicken enchilada. I was not too happy about that since I didn't notice til I got home. All in all, great ambiance, food and location :)

Came here last Friday on a whim. It was definitely a solid 2 star place. The service was mediocre. Our server had some sort of 'man ego thing' going on with the other server on duty. They were 'one upping' each other when it came to taking our order, filling our agua glasses, and giving us our check. I still don't know which one of them was our actual server. On to the food... the salsa was lackluster and seemed to be made of canned tomatoes. Seriously? The nachos had sour cream which was piped on with a pastry tip!?! I ended up ordering the vegetarian burrito as my entree and it was pretty sad. The burrito filling was tasteless. The beans and rice were okay, but then again how can you screw up rice and beans? Overall, I wouldn't go back. This place charges 'sit down' prices for mediocre taqueria food. Bad any way you look at it.

I come in to Pedros in Los Gatos often -- you could consider me a regular. I like the happy hour and the bartenders are great. I was just pulled aside by an employee (perhaps a manager) and accused of walking out on a bill from New Years . First off, I wasn't in town during New Years, secondly I've been in the restaurant several times since then so I'm not sure why they're trying to settle a bill (that wasn't that much actually) well after the fact. I denied this accusation multiple times but the server seemed extremely adamant that it was me. I was then asked what type of sunglasses I owned. I wear prescription glasses, haven't worn sunglasses in months, and they still were hesitant to let me go. Eventually they let me go with little to no apology. Unfortunately, my Pedros experience was ruined today and probably for a while. I've tended to dine out most of my adult life, and this has never happened to me before. It was uncomfortable and extremely offensive.

This review is somewhat difficult for a couple of reasons. Pedro's happy bar is good and probably 4 stars and after is a bit expensive for ~americanized Mexican food. My wife and I ordered 2 margaritas on the rocks and the total was $ 24.00 - nothing else but two margaritas. We knew that the price would be higher than happy hour, but didn't know it would be that high. The margaritas are good but not $24.00 good. I will still cone back for happy hour, but I think that's will be the extent of my next visit.

Been here before with for our group lunch (10 people +) every so often.Food & service have been pretty good for the most part. But today, we went here again. The place was not busy at all. After being there an hour, we had to ask them to TAKE our orders. They did serve us drinks and chips in the meantime. After the orders were taken, we waited another half an hour or more and still the food did not come. Once we were served, we had to wait again for the bill. We again, had to go up and ASK for the check. There's a two-hour limit parking in the area & people had to go or a ticket will be issued. Never mind about rating the food. When the service is next to nothing, it is not worth coming back. Very disappointed with the service. I could understand some other restaurants have a reputation for having terrible service but did not expect it from this place. Not coming back here again! :-(

This place has gone down hill. Our drinks were taken to the back to be refilled for Ice Tea, we had to ask and then they acted like there was some thing wrong. Our waiter gave me the wrong order and then he said I odered it. When I recived my order irt was still wrong. Also COLD FOOD, also my friend had COLD FOOD. $40.00 for cold food. Not our favorite place to bring friends and family ever againThis place has gone down hill. No wonder it is empty. Our waiter was rude. I asked if they had new owners and they said yes. THE New OWNERS Messed up a nice place to eat. This was a Nice place to eat, NOT NOW. Do not go to this place or bring friends and family.

It has been a year plus since we dined at Pedros in Los Gatos ( we live in Santa Cruz ) The four of us had lunch there Saturday. We all commented on how good the food was in preperation, taste and presentation. The chef today had his game on.

Service was nice, the margaritas were good. Enchiladas were nice nad hot, with plenty of cheese. Nachos could use a little more chips. There was way more toppings than chips but that is not to much of a problem we just asked for extra chips :) All and all a good experience.

Came here on a weekend day, Sunday to be exact. What I thought would be a packed place, it was actually pretty quiet but the place was quite empty. The place had a very Spanish style to it and clean from what I could tell. We were quickly seated and the waiter came and greeted us. She didn't take our drink order which usually they do. It took her awhile to come back to ask us for our drinks. So we grabbed some food from the buffet meanwhile, the food itself wasn't all that great and to be honest could have gotten better food at IHOP. They had a table just filled with desserts and an omelet bar which was cool. Over all the place gets 3 starts. The food could have been better, the customer service could use improvement and service could have been a little quicker considering it wasn't that busy. Would I go again? Maybe but it wouldn't be my first choice.

    1. Either the Nacho or Salsa gave me a bad stomach pain. 2. Waitress served wrong appetizer dish (was for another table) and they knew it. The other waiter came and does not acknowledge their mistake. He told us the missing dish is coming which is a lie. Who serves the same order of appetizer in 2 plates? If we didn't point out the mistake, they would just let it fly. Manager gave us another free sampler appetizer (the correct one), but all we need was an apology instead of trying to fool us into thinking we got the right dish. 3. Steak and chicken "shreds" were dry. Never coming back.

So extremely disappointed the management and staff at this restaurant. Last night I was walking to the restroom holding my 8 month daughter, we slipped and fell on the wet tile floor in the hallway. My 8 month daughter hit her head on the tile. I immediate asked for ice, 5 minutes passed, no came. I asked for ice again. Nothing. After 10 minutes and a screaming 8 month old, I opened the kitchen door and asked anyone for ice. The manager screamed at me to get out!! Finally 13 minutes after we fell, the host brought us ice. Didn't say a word to us. You would think a restaurant knows where they keep their ice! And no one ever came to check to see if we were ok, or apologize! There was no wet floor sign. I was so disappointed. We will never return here.

Came on a sunday afternoon about 4pm, we were one of three tables. Service was slow, had to ask several times for several things, at least 2 to 3 times for each thing requested. The food was average. Asked for the check, asked again, waited, I took my credit card out and put it on the table while waiting for the bill. The waiter walked by and picked up my card without ever setting the bill down. Not a huge deal but I found it kind of rude, never had this happen anywhere before. Don't think I'll go back

We stopped in after a movie one night to top off our popcorn with some solid nachos. It was a bit iffy to start since there was hardly anyone in the place and it took quite awhile to get waited on. But the nachos were really quite good. We split them and still couldn't finish (but that may have been because of the popcorn earlier). We took them to go they were so good. I'd stop in again.

It is rare when I am able to find a restaurant that has salsa spicy enough to make me run for water. Pedro's hit the spot with their spicy salsa and their tasty food. My friends and I split our meals and walked out full and happy. They are also located in lovely Los Gatos which is great for walking around and checking out their downtown.

Here's what's sad: if I was only reviewing the food, these guys would get four stars. In fact, the food is the only reason I consistently put up with the moronic hosts, incompetent waitstaff, incorrect take-out orders, and unpredictable hours (I've shown up at 8:30 pm on a Friday, only to be told they decided to close early. Seriously??) If you attempt to order any dish or food combination that strays from the verbatim menu listing, expect a blank stare, possibly an argument, and most definitely some attitude. Will some decent management please buy this place, keep the chef, fire everyone else, and turn Pedro's into a place where I actually enjoy dining?

Been coming to Pedro's since I was a lil dude and I've always loved this place! The food is good the service is usually on point and the atmosphere is casual and fun. The chips and salsa they give pre meal are some of the best I've had. Get the nachos to start, they're delicious. Good selection of margaritas and beer. I like to get the pollo tacos or the chicken enchiladas for dinner. I'll continue to come here cause other than the occasional spotty service it's pretty consistent. #ThatDudeDayne

I decided to give this place another try since I haven't been here in a while. I ordered their enchiladas that are vegetarian (I'm not sure what they're called) and I wasn't that impressed. They were tasteless and the tortillas were still stiff meaning that they just weren't cooked very well. I enjoyed eating their rice and beans more than the main entree. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. Their food just isn't that great.

Good dinner with the family and the grandparents! The shrimp tacos were a little bit on the chewy side and bland but the Steak Ranchero plate was tasty with the Serrano and jalapeño peppers.

Food was decent, I got the free nachos when checking in. However this is an unusual complaint but the service staff was so overly attentive that my family and I could never even complete a conversation let alone a sentence before another server came by to fill a one sip gone glass of water. Got to the point where my family and I were unable to spend quality time with each other and couldn't wait to leave so we could catch up over desert down the road.

After driving around to get a parking spot my husband Go's into Pedros to get a gift certificate and after standing there and being ignored the manager tells him he has to come back in 30 Minutes as she has a meeting. If your going to be the only person in charge you need to be available at all times. Diane is not a very efficient manager. I will never go here again there's enough places to eat in LG .

Perfect semi casual dining for a quick dinner date or the family. Friendly staff, great food and an overall great experience in downtown Los Gatos.

Not the best Mexican food out there but it's not bad. With all of the options in the Bay Area I would pass. I've had the fish tacos, Carne asada burrito and the crab & shrimp enchiladas. Nothing's special. It is more expensive than most because it's down town los gatos.

Chris and I were planning on having our rehearsal dinner at Oak and Rye in Los Gatos until we found out they wanted to charge $1500 just for a rental fee for 2 hours. So, Chris's mom helped us out and checked out a few other places in Los Gatos (close to the hotel we were going to be staying at) and went with Pedro's- she booked with them just a few days in advance. For about $1400, we got to rent an area of the restaurant with unlimited fajitas and a pitcher of margaritas at each table. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We are happy we ended up having our rehearsal dinner at Pedro's =)

I find this the best large Mexican restaurant in the area for me. Food has a lightness in taste and texture. Service is friendly. There was a yelp coupon for free nachos when I checked in.

Tasty burrito, but nothing special. At $15, I'm not sure I need to go back anytime soon. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. It's a good restaurant, just not anything extraordinary.

Service was good, beer was super cold! ;) food was nothing to rave about had their lobster tacos special, it was $20 for two street size tacos. Way over priced. NOT a special!! Would come again for a cold beer chips and salsa but that's about it!

For a Cal-Mex experience with children, Pedro's is consistently fair. The tacos and enchiladas were well prepared. The cocktail list is solid, again by Californian standards. Pedro's does service come special requests. At our last visit we wanted some chilli sauce more potent han the Cal-Mex salsa they serve. We did get an actually very nice, buttery Jalisco recipe made with Habanero chillis which had a nice punch. Pedro's does charge extra for anything that deviates from the norm. That Habanero Jalisciense did cost was an extra $1.00, but it was worth it. Do check the bill of fare before you pay.

Asked to split a salad but apparently kitchen people think its too much work for them. Even thought I offered to pay for extra service. Any restaurant which refuses to accommodate simple requests from their customers is doomed for failure . Farewell Pedro's! You will NEVER see us again... Food is just passable and nothing to come back to.

The new manager at Pedros resolved the incident that I had a few years back and so I've decided to update my review. Pedros has some of the best Mexican Food in Los Gatos. The staff is very friendly and you can get good drinks at the Bar. The menu has so much variety as well. If you come on Sundays there is a Breakfast Buffet and the prices are very reasonable. So if your looking for a good Mexican Restaurant then Pedro's is the place to go.

absolutely decrepit.. strap on your running shoes and run as fast away from this restaurant as you possible can, make Usain Bolt proud of you, and go for the gold. I've been coming here ever since a kid, countless birthday parties, family get togethers, dates yadda yadda ya.. this recent visit was a bad one. you might say this place has taken a turn for the worse the place was empty the bar was empty the table we sat on was wobbly. - many attempts to level it failed we moved to the bar i asked for chip and was the bartender pointed to a pile of chips under a heating light. COLD i remember Pedro's serving fresh crisp chips. hot i had to search for a chip bowl i had to search for a salsa bowl. i had to get up and ask for a second beer. we've already passed strike 3 ordered Chicken Suizas which is my favorite item on the menu ----- PAUSE ---- until now did not taste like it did 1 year ago. the enchiladas were much larger filled, but bigger is not always better chicken was almost tuna fish like i know its chicken of the sea but this is ridiculous the black beans were burned and tasted old. the portions were small. I will not set foot in this place until they hire a more competent chef

Great service, free food at happy hour ( just barely ok) and bland Mexican food this is why I always say I hate Mexican food. It's Americanized and not in a good way. Why 3 stars?? Service. Free food at happy hour.

Stopped by on Mothers day. The hostess asked if we had a reservation when we said no. She would not even give us a time. When I called she said there was nothing. When I asked her to give me a time when she would have something she did. I thought it was really rude that she couldn't give us a time when we walked in but over the phone she did. It felt like she didn't want to explain anything to us

Came here last night and had an amazing time! We each at the GotDailyDeals $20 offer, so we sat at the bar. We didn't realize it was happy hour, but we were able to get half off well drinks, draft beer, and Margaritas! I started with a beer, and my friends were all content with their margaritas. I had heard about them being watered down so I stuck to. Y Sierra Nevada. Next, the chips. Mmm. So good! I am very picky when it comes to chips at Mexican restaurants, and Pedro's definitely surpassed my expectations. They also had red and green salsas to go along with the complimentary appetizer and they were both delicious. For my entree I got a double combo plate with the shredded chicken burrito, soft carnitas taco, black beans, and Spanish rice. Everything was so good! I would definitely go back again, especially for happy hour. Before applying my offer my total was only $24 "

Went to Pedro's with friends a week ago and loved it! The burrito special was excellent, Cadillac Margarita excellent and service superb. I'd been there once before many years ago and found it to be meh. I was amazed at the improvement! Nice going Pedro's!

There was a hair in my enchilada! On top of that we came with several children and they didn't manage to bring out the food for 2 of them until the end of dinner. The manager told me he was scared to ask the owner if they could do anything to make it right? This place is a disaster - understatement.

An inpromtu bar crawl brought me to Pedro's one afternoon. People seemed to be enjoying the food, but we were headed to the bar. A very nice bartender served me a great Paloma. If you check in on Yelp I believe there is a free appetizer offer.

I've been coming to Pedro's in Los Gatos since 1975 and they have the best Chile Verde Burritos but unfortunately, their menus have been recently revised and no longer list the burrito as an entrée item. You can order the Chile Verde stew but I prefer when it's made into a wet burrito. Just ask Rocio and she will make sure you get the best burrito in Silicon Valley. She's one of the servers and provides excellent friendly service.

BAD SERVICE. BAD FOOD. BAD DRINKS. I wish I could give negAtive reviews! My boyfriend and I decided to try something new so while walking by Pedro's we stopped to get dinner. First we ordered their drink special of the month, the Frida Khalo. It was THE WORST DRINK. Both my boyfriend and I couldn't drink more than 2 sips of it. It had old cucumbers in it and tasted like rancid vegetables and something fermenting that shouldn't have been. That should have been a sign to leave but unfortunately we already ordered. The service took forever by the way and there was hardly anyone in the entire restaurant. Our server, a young girl, was off putting and not friendly at all. It took over a half hour just to get the horrible aforementioned drinks. So when our food finally comes, tostada for me and and a enchilada for him, it looked cheap and disgusting. My tostada was not what I expected from a Spanish restaurant. It wasn't actually a tostada at all instead a tortilla bowel filled with disgusting iceberg lettuce and cheap shredded orange American cheese. Everything about this "tostada" was awful. I could only eat a few bites of the beans I scraped from the bottom of the stale shell. My boyfriends dinner was horrible as well. The cheese wasn't even melted on top and he said that the sauce had a metal after-taste. We both left with our plates practically untouched. Needless to say neither of us will come back here again.

The Lobster Tacos are only served on Fridays, but they should serve it more often. I love the Chillie verde. The staff are friendly, the place is charming and the food is really as good as any mexican food I've ever had. The portions are huge. Go here during happy hour and prepare to be impressed with the drinks and bar snacks.. Reading some of the negative reviews saddened me for a couple of reasons. A lot of people were bitter about paying 15 dollars for a burrito (although i seriously doubt anyone can finish one of their burritos - its huge. Hello? First of all, this is not taco bell. secondly, its a beautiful property in Down Town Los Gatos. Manresa, which is just behind pedro's charges 200-500 dollars per head to dine. how do people expect a place 4 times the size, in the same area, to charge less than 10 bucks for a dinner main course? These people are clearly delusional and are under the opinion that mexican food can never be classy or cost more than a couple of bucks. I feel sorry such ignorant folks. If you are broke, or trained into thinking mexican food should be dirt cheap, you probably will get disappointed. But if you don't mind paying 2 dollars more for an awesome ambience , a great neighbourhood, and wholesome food, you will love it. Try the home made habanero sauce (its freaky hot but awesome). Also the happy hour menu is great. the 3 dollar happy hour bar menu is probably one of the best kept secretes of the Santa Cruz Mountains... I will go again and again. simply love the 40 year old charming building.

I will never return to this place. I went here on 1/27/13 for a Birthday Party and every thing was bad. The food, service, smell, drinks, etc. It's very expensive for the nasty food they serve. This is not Mexican food. Taste like everything was from a can. Even the Salsa was gross. My kids even thought the food was nasty. It took forever for the waitress to come and collect the money in the bill and run credit cards. I recommend talking your money and tummy somewhere else.

Stop 4 on the Los Gatos Bar Crawl (#LosCrawl on Twitter) The 1 star is because our drinks were free since the bartender screwed up a simple order for draft beer. He seemed a nice enough chap and was apologetic so he gets all credit for the star. Came here with Michael L. and Michael C. for Stop 4 of the Los Gatos crawl. We had a short break between this and the previous stop and were ready to go with our order of Dos Equis draft. Decor seems typical Mexican chain restaurant type - bright painted walls, kind of loud music, nice enough to be charming. FIrst thing we noticed was the strong smell around the bar area - alternating between a bleach/disinfectant and a stench of puke... wonder if someone had an accident here... May be unfair to hold it against the restaurant but that and the mix-up with the drinks (which I didn't know since I had gone to the bathrooms (which is another dismal 1 star review of its own)) - this left kind of a bad taste in the mouth :( Chips and salsa were good though - but we couldn't wait to get out of here. I will return here to see if that was a one off and if so, I will gladly revise my score and review. But until then, this shall remain the low point of the #LosCrawl (and there were plenty of those during this crawl!!!!) ~ 1 star for the earnest and friendly bartender. But a poor experience overall. # 132

The cheese enchiladas are back on the Happy Hour buffet on Tuesdays and Thursdays!!! Between that and the still awesome bartenders (shout out to Roman and Haro!), this is the best happy hour you will find in the Santa Clara Valley.

This place is great after bar-hopping - try the seafood enchiladas! Down-side - they unfortunately don't pay any attention to the details of your order (a chicken enchilada turned out to be a crab enchilada that unfortunately my friend was allergic to - whoops!)

Every month five of us go to lunch in the South Bay. Today was our twelfth lunch so now we can go back and duplicate a restaurant from our first year. Most of us had not been to Pedro's for some time. We had a very enjoyable lunch...really enjoyed Carol, the hostess and our server, Rocio did a marvelous job. The food was great as was the service. The decor and cleanliness of the restaurant was duly noted. We will be back in our second year of enjoying good friends each month. We said we would be back and we had another great lunch experience last Friday. This is a consistently very good restaurant with excellent service. Not one of the five of us was disappointed with their meal. The decor is about as nice as it gets. I am sure we will return in 2015 as our group does not duplicate restaurants in the same year. Do not hesitate to go here.

My sister and I were looking for a place to eat and since I've passed by Pedro's many times and wanted to try it, we thought we'd take a chance. There was barely anyone dining there but the hostess seated us all the way in the back near the kitchen. The food was ok but the service was not great. It took a while to order and then a really long time to get their attention again for anything else. I'd like to give them another try soon and I hope the service is better. If not, I will definitely NOT be returning there ever again.

While Pedro's may be your usual Amerimexican fare, you're better off here than at Chevy's. Great if you have a big, loud crowd.

I have been going here for YEARS with friends and family. The food is somewhere between OK and good. The service is unpredictable, but I will say that the last 3 times I went it was very good. Maybe it's just who I am with when I go here, but I always enjoy myself. I had a very yummy coconut margarita here not long ago. My favorite thing to eat here are the steak soft tacos.

OK, the 4 stars is for my experience back in the 80s. I havent been to this place in years, last time I went it wasn't what it used to be. The food was SO good and I always got the combo plate, one beef one chicken enchilada (always paid extra for the shredded beef) with sour cream and guac on top, rice and beans. I'd go here with my b/f and his friends who were over 21 and I of course was 17/18 years old, but they served me margaritas anyway! TY Pedro's for contributing to my underage drinking....you made it that much easier to do it in public!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
